I have a secret weapon. I do.
So, I have been talking about my weight loss, and I am still trying to lose about 30 more pounds. Since January, as you know, I have lost just over 22 lbs. Lately I have been posting about more things that I have been doing, using, and posting progress pictures. But- this is (so far) my #1.
The most fantastic weight loss and toning product- I love it so much. It’s called Cardio Barre!

I have been using it at least twice a week since February. It is not so easy, though! You will have to work. It’s not wild and bombastic, like some of those over the top (for me) videos you see- flying all over the place and rolling all about. BUT- it is really, really difficult, because it works muscles you may not often use, and you will work on your balance as well. Even if you do yoga, like me- it’s still a new bunch of movements, and you may have trouble finding your center at first. Take your time! I totally didn’t do the whole video the first few times, and I still don’t look graceful, LOL.
All the people in the video are ballet dancers- and look it. I HATE THAT! I wish fitness producers used more “real” people instead of perfect ones, it always makes me feel inferior and kind of puts me off. The good news? Even though you may not be a size 0- you can do this. You can! I was a size 16 when I started. Yep! I’m a real person. I have never taken a dance class, either. Not even as a kid.
I don’t have a perfect body. But, I want to have a body that is perfect for me, that I am happy with. My goal is not to be a size 0. I like to eat. ๐Ÿ™‚ And I don’t want to be hungry and cranky all the time, LOL.
I just want to look and feel good!
If you are not a dancer, and never took any classes (like me!) it will also take you a few times to recognize what the instructor (Richard Giorla) wants you to do. Again- you will learn it ๐Ÿ™‚ Just don’t rush yourself or start feeling bad. That is the beauty of being in your own living room! No one to judge, haha.

It can also be a fun workout- not anything boring or that you will dread doing. You may dread it initially, because it will make you pretty sore! But that is how you will know it is working. It is a fun workout, and I have enjoyed doing it. As you may know if you Like Me on Facebook or Follow Me on Twitter- I have been using it a lot! I like to mix it up, doing it about 2 or 3 times a week, and working in some other ones, both to use other parts of my body and so that I don’t get “stuck in a rut” or bored. Anything will bore you if you do it solely! It is a very, very complete whole body workout. Just try it once, and see what I mean, LOL.

Here is some more info about the Cardio Barre!
“A unique, high energy/no impact exercise class that combines barre work and light weights with continual fat burning motion. Central to the workout are toning and resistance exercises for the butt. legs, torso and arms to sculpt muscles and elongate the appearance of your body.

A workout studio where exercisers are losing up to 5 percent body fat in 8 weeks time. The fat-burning, muscle-sculpting sensation isnโ€™t any of the usual suspects – no kicking, no punching, no jumping up and down. Just exercises that lengthen and strengthen your muscles, as youโ€™re burning fat.”

  1. Congrats on your progress! And yeah, I agree with Lucy — the perfect folks in magazines are frauds. I do some of the photoshopping on some of them for my day job. You wouldn’t believe the befores and afters!

  2. The perfect peeps are frauds! But you my dear are amazing! 22 pounds is something to celebrate….congrats!

Now if I could just get a workout bar installed in my livingroom, I’d be good to go ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. This looks pretty cool. Do you have to have a bar to do this? What do you use instead if you don’t?

  4. I will have to keep that in mind as I get more in shape. I doubt I would be able to do that yet. But I am hoping to get there.

    Congrats on the weight loss.

  5. Seems like a good workout. I agree with you; they should definitely use people who are looking to get in shape so we can relate.

  6. wow, I have never seen anything like that for home use

  7. How about a video of you trying it out? LOL!! Just kidding. Seriously though, it doesn’t look that challenging but I am sure you will be the first to tell us that it is! I too wish that producers would use people that look like us too! Kind of like what (I HATE TO USE THIS EXAMPLE) Richard Simmons does. He has all kinds of people…tall, skinny, fat, frumpy, etc. Anyway…good review and thanks for your thoughts! ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. I lost my weight doing cardios. It gets that metabolism moving and burns the fat. Glad this is working for you.

  9. Sure sounds interesting! I too wonder about the perfect looking people in the videos.

  10. wow congrats on your progress! YOu make this sound kinda fun actually! ๐Ÿ™‚ I should try it – esp for winter when i can’t get outside! ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. That looks really great- I need to tone up a lot

  13. Wow, that would be a really good workout! I could use me some of that. I also imagine that it would help you stretch a lot too.
