I think you all know we have a new dog in the house- Leela, AKA “Houdini”. She is 3 years old, and boy…does she need some work! LOL
Leela is a very smart dog- and I’m not sure that is a good thing! She gets into everything, and is very, very sneaky, haha. She keeps managing to bust out of our backyard (even after we rebuilt the fence- really- and padlocked the gate) and runs the town like she is training for the Olympics. NOT COOL.

We are doing pretty well with training- but she does like to get into the garbage pails, and take some of Little Man’s smaller “fluffy” toys. We are working hardest on those, and her “disappearing act”. (OY.)
However- we have now had her for 3 weeks, and she is now spayed and microcipped, so yay for that!

We went to Walmart, and picked up some training treats for the little miss. We got her some Milk-Bone

    Thanks for the suggestions

  2. My dog is not picky at all, he’ll eat anything I can find. Good luck with the training.

  3. Walmart can be so frustrating. They never want to go the extra mile and help you find things. My Walmart didn’t have the Milo’s Kitchen treats either :/

  4. Good luck with training! Harder when they’ve already developed some habits but I’ll know you’ll reach your goals! Especially with tasty, enticing treats! Hang in there, puppy Mama!

  5. When it comes to training dogs, I’m a failure! Can I come and get private lessons from you?

  6. Does she get extra treats for putting on that jacket? Ha ha ha!

Training is hard work and takes a lot of patience….and treats.

Good for you for getting the good stuff 🙂

  7. she looks so cute

  8. I love Old Mother Hubbard treats. My favorite treats to purchase at WalMart is Blue Dog Bakery ones — Toby loves them! And, they are usually pretty affordable, while also being healthy.

  9. Our cat is so picky we would have had major problems trying to find treats she likes. But I love how happy she looks in this picture wearing her little doggy outift.

  10. Poor thing, hes gorgeous as well. Luckily Harvey our border terrier decided to leap our 6ft garden gate without any injuries, just a few shocked neighbours having barking dog at them x

  11. She gets bonus points from me for allowing you to dress her. My dogs FREAK OUT if you even attempt to put any type of dog clothing on them..lol

Milkbone treats worked great for Bella..Boss not so much. It had nothing to do with the treats though. Just his stubborn male personality 😉

  12. I am so fortunate that Buddy doesn’t want to get out. He’s a big digger too but he only digs in one spot right behind his doghouse so he can lay in the cool dirt. Your doggie is so cute!

  13. He had a lot of work done at one time. We did our little guy that way too so it could all be done.
Good Luck with the rest of the training. Hopefully the treats will make it easier.

  14. Ha! My trip to Walmart for doggie treats ended up with not being able to get to the dog food and the guy who was stocking knocking over a big stack of boxes, almost hitting me and then looking at me like I was out of my mind. :/
