Ahh, it’s a scary LEGO! Yes, the scariest LEGO of them all- the dreaded small brick sitting sideways in the middle of the carpet at night. This evil beast loves to roll around your floors while everyone is sleeping and wait for an unsuspecting bare foot to trample it, thus giving it it’s sustenance- profanities. The choicest cuts being those spewed at 2:00 am on the way to the bathroom. Up until now there was no one to help you fight these beasts, but fret no longer, the Monster Fighters are here! Just kidding. Sort of. πŸ˜›

The Monster Fighters are actually here to fight Lord Vampyre in his quest to collect all the moonstones and block out the sun thus letting the monsters spread across the land. This newest line involved eight Lego construction sets ranging form the colossal Vampyre castle to the Werewolf Ambush. As always Lego has the fun of building with the quirky fun of Lego, sly smiles and gnarly monsters make for a very good Lego set. We had the chance to try out the Werewolf set which included two mini-figs, the werewolf and Major Quinton Steele. Both of which include a ton of accessories like claws and weapons. There is also a special werewolf launching ambush tree and the Major’s hot rod which is a really nice addition. A great set to get you a good feel for the new line of Monster Fighters.

Up next is the something for our younger Lego fans, Duplo. Duplo are the prefect size for little hands, and curious little ones who may want to “taste” the small regular bricks. Not delicious- but they never listen, do they? πŸ˜›

Duplo bricks are bigger and easier to pull apart. This is prefect for toddlers and young kids. Little Man has had Duplo around since he was born, even if he had not the dexterity to use them. Yep, that’s daddy for you….One of his first couple of sets being a Duplo Farm Set and another being the Incredible Hulk Duplo-fig. Somewhere between Hulk and farms, there is Cars. Lightning, Mater and the crew have been recreated in Duplo format. Some of the sets include gas stations, airplanes and even a big cannon for Mater! Cars is a prefect fit for Duplo and makes for a fun afternoon of city building where little ones can smash and crash thru having a smashing good time.

Check out this cool set, Cars Race Day which includes, Lightning McQueen and Jeff Gorvette as well as a pit stop with gas pump and wrench. The most interesting characteristic of the Duplo Cars is there are very few ‘tracks’- instead little once can make tracks all over the place! Driving and exploring everywhere.

Another fun set is the Cars Red set. He includes a fire, plastic of course and flowers and a brick decorated to look like the statue in front of the town hall. Red himself has a moving ladder and fire hose, for fire fighting action anywhere in Radiator Springs, or just for watering the flowers. Little loves that the ladder comes off, and that he can (pretend) use the hose can water all the flowers on the train table.

  6. Amazingly I was going to leave a similar comment as above..lol They are loads of fun, but should NEVER be stepped on! πŸ˜‰

  7. My boys LOVE Legos. However, when they leave them laying out on the floor, they go into time out for a while. Thankfully, I have a good set of slippers now that keep them from hurting my feet.
