During a recent trip to New York City, we made a quick stop at the local Duane Reade. It had three floors, and carried alcohol and a whole floor of beauty supplies. Not your average pharmacy!
Duane Reade has just about anything you could think, of from soap and shampoo to light bulbs and cold beverages. Which was a good thing for me, since my son was demanding cookies and a juice box 🙂
Upon entering the store I found the new issue of Happy And Healthy magazine. The magazine is chock full of tips and pointers as well as sales, coupons, and even an item of the week.
This particular week was some of the natural items in Ology line.
Ology are products which are quite ‘green’. These products contain no harmful chemicals, are dye free, contain no harmful chemicals or solvents, have not been tested on animals and are contained in 100% post consumer materials. Without the Happy and Healthy magazine Ology very could have flown completely below the radar for me.
Duane Reade also has everything you would expect at a pharmacy including over the counter medication, soap, shampoo, etc. There are even a few Duane Reade‘s which have a growler bar, which is a refill station for half gallon bottles of beer. If only we knew, the hubby would have loved this. Duane Reade is expanding in many different ways in order to grow along with the consumers of New York.

That looks like a great store. I like that they carry more natural products too. A lot of drugstores are very limited in that area.
What an interesting store to shop in. I have never heard of Duane Reade before. That ology line sounds really interesting. My daughter has very sensitive skin and these sound great for her.
