Damhorst Toys

I am always a big ‘ole sucker for items that are personalized. I must say that you absolutely can’t go wrong with any of the Name Puzzle Stools that Damhorst Toys has to offer. I received the Large Name Puzzle Stool and have been completely impressed.

About Damhorst Toys:

The Damhorst Toys company is currently owned by Kris Damhorst and his sister Megin Cassimatis. Their
parents, Don and Carol Damhorst, started making unique handmade wooden puzzles in 1971 for them as children. They observed how much those puzzles taught them perception, problem solving and patience. It was great for them to see how these toys gave them such a great sense of accomplishment.

Soon, many friends started asking for items to be made for them. A little while later, they started selling their toys and puzzles in St.Louis specialty shops. In the early 70’s, Don and Carol began exhibiting at Art & Craft fairs throughout the country, meeting other craftspeople and future customers.

In February of 1998, they moved the business out of their home and to a much larger shop in Hermann, Missouri. In 2004 Megin and Kris took over ownership full time.

The products are all sold direct. This is so that they can make sure to be able to keep in touch with the customer, and continue to improve the quality based on feedback.

Large Name Puzzle Stool

My Thoughts:

We have been completely impressed with our new stool. My daughters, as you can tell, are huge fans of it. I love that you are able to personalize it. I absolutely love my engraved message on the step stool as well, I know that they will always be able to cherish their new gift.

The girls have already thoroughly enjoyed being able to play with the puzzle on the stool. My oldest has noticed that there is a color pattern on it and can tell the difference for the two lowercase ‘a’s ‘ on it. She noticed the colors, but my youngest noticed that it didn’t fit right :).

The stool was very quick and easy for me to be able to put together. I had absolutely no problem getting the stool put together in probably 2 minutes.

From the moment I took this out of the box my girls have absolutely been in love. They love to play with it as well as use it to reach everything that they couldn’t use before.

I feel completely confident that this is a very sturdy stool. I never worry about my girls having any problems with it at all and know that they are good to go when using it.
