Sometimes you just need help , an idea to help put together a lunch. Kids get tired of the same old things, peanut butter and jelly, an apple a salad. Boring! Spice up that lunch box and have the kids help .

With 10 Chapters to go through you have plenty to choose from, the Brown Bag basics which is tips to keep food cool till lunch, portion sizes and more. Planning is important, there’s a section on this and it will help even the most unorganized parent prepare lunch easier. Don’t skip this chapter! Next is the food chapters, your array of sandwiches, including just a few are- Smoked Salmon Tea Sandwich, Chickpea Panini and Turkey Hummus Cuties. You have Salads that are aimed for children, roll ups, wraps, and a whole chapter on how to help turn left overs into an amazing lunch. Not skipping the main bulk is fruits and vegetables, little extras to add in there for the kids and even a section for some healthy treats like Rosie’s Energy Balls and more. I like the additional chapters for after school snacks. Yet another daily thing that parents like myself sometimes come to dread. You just serve the same things over and over, well Katie helps take you through the steps and tips to kick up not only your kids lunch box meal but after-school goodies the kids will adore you for! I made some Shredded BBQ Pork Wraps for the kids from leftovers. Perfect size for the lunch box!

  6. I loved grilled cheeses, and luckily my kids love them too.

  7. Yummy peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Now you cant even bring those to schools anymore.

  8. This cookbook looks wonderful! Thank you for the change to win it. I love salads for lunch, and for my kids homemade chicken pot pie. I feel good because its healthy (I load it with veggies and organic chicken) and make mini pies that are easy for them to pick up and eat.

  9. Angela Rhodes Ingles says

My favorite lunchbox meal as a kid was peanut butter and jelly on white bread with the crusts cut off. Now we try to do things more healthy with all-natural peanut butter, all-natural fruit only spread, and multigrain bread with nothing artificial in it. 🙂

  10. Yikes! I don’t remember! 🙂 But in our family, we all love having fresh fruits in our lunches and homemade cookies! 🙂 This book looks fabulous, I love keeping lunches from getting boring.

  11. Kimberly Schotz says

When I was a kid I loved having a hard boiled egg in my lunch. My mother used to peel it for me and I had tiny cardboard containers of salt and pepper. My daughter likes to have pasta in her lunchbox.

  12. I loved PB&J sandwiches, yogurt and orange slices. The kids love the same but instead of oranges they like grapes or apples.

  13. Desiree Dunbar says

I loved Turkey and cheese sandwiches or bologna and cheese as a kid.

  14. sandra davis says

i remember peanut butter sandwiches and chips

  15. Sara Estep says

Peanut butter in Jelly sandwiches! My mom used cookie cutters to make them into different shapes everyday. My kids love them as well ^_^

  16. Andi-Roo (@theworld4realz) says

My favorite was when I got to walk home for lunch because our house was close enough to the school. I usually made bologna sandwiches. Now, as an adult, I don’t even buy bologna, just ham and roast beef, both of which my daughter likes. Most of all, however, she enjoys beef jerky, a cheese stick, some crackers, a tangerine, and bottled water. Not the best lunch, but far from the worst. I try to shake things up so she doesn’t get sick of it, which is why I’d love this book! 🙂

  17. I like turkey sandwiches, chips, and strawberries. No, my son will sometime eat it and sometimes he will not.

  18. peanut butter and jelly; i always ate that every day!

  19. Jill A. Collins says

I loved spaghetti-o’s in my thermos for lunch!

  20. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

  21. My favorite was chocolate milk, peanut butter sandwiches, and goldfish crackers. Meanwhile, the only kiddo in my life doesn’t like sandwiches at all.
