There are some things in life that parents miss at work that stink the most. Most of them involve their families. How great would it be to be able to send your son or daughter an “I love you” message as easily as a text message without giving your little one a phone? Innotab has just this in mind with their new Kid Connect app for the Innotab 3S. The way the app works is pretty easy- first downloads for everyone. Download the app to your iPhone/ Android and Innotab 3S. Then get to the fun parts. Parents can easily send texts, stickers, voice messages, drawings and photos to their kids and the kids can also send to their parents.
Before we go any further, I know the alarm bells are screaming in your head, saying “What keeps my kids safe? I don’t want my child talking to strangers let alone sharing pictures and texts with them.” Well, rest assured your child can only make ‘friends’ on the Innotab AFTER you, the parent approve them. So no strangers or dangers in sight.
The app itself works quite well and is simple to use by both the child and the parent. It is great fun sending silly noises to your kid while at work. Nothing beats squawking like a bird at your desk and having a good reason for it too. The app works on most smart phones and will work anywhere your phone works, so no matter how far away a parent is, they are always a few button taps away. This greatly improves difficult nights and lonely kid afternoons. For more details on the app check out the official page.

I have been looking at this for a while for my sons. I don’t want to get them video games or plain tablets because I am worried they will become unfocused in school. This will teach them while they play which is amazing, especially for my autistic 7 year old who has proven technology helps keep him interested in a task.
