My Uncle’s Gift

Its called My Uncle’s Gift and it is about how a little thing like a hobby can effect little ones in your family.  Even without trying adults are making impressions on children.  Not only through teaching and lessons but through life and living.  In my family there is a strong tie to food.  Holidays always have a special food Easter is Ham and pizzagaina, Christmas is Calamari and ham, New Years pigs in a a blanket and dry smoked sausage.  All the food is delicious and of course everyone who can helps.  This was something that has stuck with me for many years.  MY grandparents passed onto me the traditions and now I am passing this down to our little guy.  He loves hanging out in the kitchen and helping to cook.  Sure his cooking is nothing more then dumping pasta in boiling water of mixing the pancake mix.  But the key is he learns some lessons about cooking without being bombarded with  hard lessons or forcing him to try.

Keep Good Going is simple just do good and keep good going.  Instead of smoking or drinking in front of kids, try having a healthy hobby like gardening, sewing, etc.  How does your family pass on the good and keep the bad to a minimum?  Why not Learn more about how New York Life can help you and your family Keep Good Going now and in the future.  Preparation is another important characteristic which people must have.  Without properly preparing for things, there is no way to make if through them.  Be it insurance, grocery shopping or just making sure there is enough toilet paper to get through the weekend.  All you need is some thought and a little heart.
