We are now on the third Skylanders game and with each new game it seems they get better and better. The most recent addition is SWAP Force, which not only let you swap out figures but also characteristics of each figure, or in easier terms the tops and bottoms.
Each Swap Force figure has the ability to trade its top or bottom with other Swap Force figures. This makes for some very interesting combinations of figures upon game release. But as the line expands, as it recently has, things get even more interesting and more possibilities arise. Very recently Skylanders has dropped some new figures on the general public. These figures include Freeze Blade, Fryno, Scratch, and Trap Shadow. Freeze Blade and Trap Shadow are Swapable while Fryno and Scratch are regular Skylanders figures, who ONLY bring their digital counterparts to life when put on the portal while the game is on. Of these new figures I like Trap Shadow best. Something about Traps and Shadows just sends shivers down my spine. Little Man loves Fire Bone Hot Dog. Its a dog and it has a bone? Instant classic.
The Skylanders games are great fun for kids of all ages AND it is nice to see a backwards compatibility of figures. Skylanders from the first game work on both Giants and Swap Force which is nice to se your little Spyro grow to be a powerhouse in game. But please keep in mind the Giants and Swap Force won’t work in the first Skylanders game. Sorry time travel does not exist yet unfortunately.

Swap Force figures retail for $14.99 each and the starter pack which contains the game, portal,and 3 figures retails for $64.99 as well.
The starter packs are available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, WiiU and 3DS systems. Figures are not console specific so they make good gifts for any little ones who need gifts.
My nephew is obsessed with skylanders, im sure he will have these in no time. He takes these toys with him everywhere. They really are great toys for kids.
He would get along perfect with my grandson who is 6 and so into skylanders and has so darn many of the figures. He has the swap force as well
I got a coupon for skylanders in my son’s happy meal today. I will have to see if I can use one on an individual character. If so, I will give it to my oldest son so that he can pick out a new character for cheap.
My boys have not gotten wrapped up in these yet. They do look interesting though! I love that little dog and his fire bone!
We have a birthday party to go to this weekend, and having 3 girls myself, I never know what to buy for boys. Thanks for the awesome idea!!!

My daughter is huge into Skylanders! She saves up all of her allowance to purchase a new one each month! She even informed me that she wants to have a Skylanders birthday party next month! I can’t believe how popular these things are 🙂
My friend’s son is CRAZY about these. I’m sure he’s stalking the stores to add to his collection already!
