Update your bedroom for Summer
Now that summer is well underway, it’s the perfect time to refresh your bedroom and make it feel bright and fresh for the warmer months. Below are some simple ways in which you can make your room relaxing and refreshing for the best season of them all:

Change your bed linen
Changing your bed linen in time for summer is essential. Choose a floral print or opt for a crisp white set and watch it brighten up your space. You can also add some brand new cushions or throws for a summery feel. Invest in some new sheets too; after all, there is simply no better feeling than crawling into a fresh, clean bed from Divan Beds Centre with brand new covers and soft sheets. Luxury!

Add a mirror
If you don’t already have a large mirror in your bedroom, invest in one. Mirrors are great for adding natural light to your room as they reflect the sun and will also make your space feel a lot bigger.

Rearrange your furniture
Even moving your furniture around for the season can make a huge difference and can help breathe new life into a space. Move your bed closer to the window to make the most of the sunshine in the mornings, or if you have a working desk, move it around so you can look out of the window as you work on a hot summer’s day.

Bring the outdoors in
Freshly cut flowers add the perfect finishing touch to a bedroom, so if you have a garden, cut a few of your favorite blooms and keep in a vase next to the bed. According to the Florist Chronicles, a study found that participants who lived with fresh-cut flowers for less than a week felt an increase in feelings of compassion and kindness for others. It also found that flowers helped with anxieties, worries and provided a boost of energy and happiness in the individual.

De-clutter
One of the best ways to refresh your home for spring and summer is by having a complete de-clutter. Get rid of everything you no longer need, pack away all your winter clothes and items in storage and replace everything that’s showing its age with something new and fresh.

Update your scents
If you like to burn candles or use diffusers in your bedroom, why not switch from the heavy winter scents to something more refreshing like orange, lemon or vanilla? When you walk into your bedroom, it will certainly smell like summer!

Be bold with accessories
According to the
BBC, colours in the home can significantly affect the occupants’ mood. Create a summer theme in your bedroom by adding cushions, ornaments and wall art in bright and bold shades such as orange, yellow, blue and green.

Repaint the walls

Consider repainting your bedroom with a light, summer-inspired colour. If you haven’t got the time to do so, you could create one feature wall, or alternatively you could transform a few key pieces of furniture with a lick of paint.

Comments

  1. I always change my bedroom for each season. My husband thinks I’m crazy because I have so many comforters but I like to add some color and change with the seasons. I change things up in the early Spring, then Summer, the Fall, and Winter. I really believe that it affects your mood.
