With holiday shopping days winding to a close, you might be really stressed out trying to figure out the best toys to give the kids in your life.  Don’t worry, that’s what we are here for.  Check out some of these toys, sure to please any child.  These are easy to give, won’t break the bank, and are pretty much guaranteed to make kids light up like the Christmas tree or Menorah.

pic4Legos- you really can’t go wrong.  Got a little builder in your life?  These sets are awesome, and inexpensive (especially as LEGO sets go.  No matter if you have a boy or a girl (or want to give a gift for everyone to enjoy), either of these sets will be a hit.  The CREATOR Furry Creatures playset is adorable- everyone here had a good time building it. It comes with all the pieces you need to build a cat and a mouse, even a little piece of cheese.  You can also build this three-in-one set into a puppy dog or a rabbit, or try making them all and see what you like best.  $20 at http://shop.lego.com

Got fans of the Hobbit or Lord of the Rings, or perhaps you yourself are and want to introduce it to your children.  The LEGO The Hobbit Attack on Lake-town is pretty neat, and offers a lot for the price of $30 (larger sets available).  Defend your land from those awful Orcs with Tauriel and her Elven warriors.  Includes 5 minifigures with assorted weapons: Bain son of Bard, Bard the Bowman™, Tauriel and 2 Hunter Orcs. If your kids are anything like mine, it is all about the minifigs, so having this many in one set, for this price, is pretty good (especially when you consider they are about $5 each out of the set).

pic5Jay At Play is making some pretty awesome stuff right now, and great for any kid.  Easy gift giving- and again, the kids will love the gifts!    First, look at the new Tummy Stuffers Wild Ones!  They come in several sizes, and right now you can get a large one with a free small sized Tummy Stuffer for only $20 at https://www.buytummystuffers.com/.  You really, really can’t beat that. You can choose from 6 styles of animal, all in funky, wild colors that the kids will enjoy.  Not to mention, that this is not only a toy, but it encourages kids to clean up- and they really like doing it!  They will put all their toys into that Tummy Stuffer, you wait and see how fast they clean up.  I kid you not- I would not lead you wrong.  They stuff their toys into the mouth of the animal until it is full, which takes longer then you might think.

They also make J-Animals, the first “wearable stuffed animal”.  Part costume, part pajama, all fun, your child can choose to be a Cat, Zebra, Dog, Giraffe, or Unicorn.  It comes in 3 sizes- small, medium, and large- and will fit most kids from the very small right up to adult.  These would make for a fun holiday card photo, ha. They are soft like fleece, and when they are done being worn, they roll up into a little ball.  It looks like a stuffed animal or a little pillow when they are rolled up (and it is easy to do, my son does it himself).  You can grab one for $29.99 at https://www.buyjanimals.com

pic4The new Bright Eyes Blanket is adorable, and perfect for naptime, bedtime, and especially travel.  New from the creators of the “Snuggie”,  every blanket has an animal face and paws. This super soft blanket can hug you (or you can put your hands in the paws and hug others- happy holidays!) as you snuggle up together to watch your favorite holiday movies. This blanket has loose fitting sleeves, so it’s comfortable and fun to play in, then sleep in or with.  Not only are the blankets cute (they come in Playful Puppy, Kool Kitten, Darling Duck and Precious Panda styles) but they have glow in the dark eyes for a built-in-nightlight.  Love this, again, especially for traveling. You can pick one up at $19.99 on www.brighteyesblanket.com, as well as Walmart, Walgreens, Bed Bath and Beyond and CVS.

power rangers toy
Power Rangers are hot right now, so if you are shopping for a boy under 12, these would make pretty awesome gifts. For about $28 at Toys R Us, you can pick up the Power Rangers Super Megaforce Deluxe Legendary Morpher, which sort of looks like a cell phone.  Young kids will adore that- a phone like mom and dad’s.  It lets kids call up zords and powers, just like they do on the show.  Use the included Legendary Ranger keys (also available for purchase separately) to activate the device, and set off lights and sounds to reveal the Ranger Symbol- all of the rangers from the 20 seasons are recognized, with their own unique battle cry. (Yeah, don’t you feel old.  20 seasons. 20.  I remember when the show first came out…..arg)  The morpher comes with 2 keys, as well as the included Power Rangers Scanner App for smartphones.  Scan your key and get the bad guys on a phone or tablet (with mom and dad’s permission, of course).

The awesome Q Rex Megazord is also available for $35 on http://www.bandai.com, and is one of the latest editions of MegaZords. (For those of you who don’t speak “Power Ranger”, those are the big ones, the ones that usually let you create your own zord, mix and match with your individual ranger’s zords- their vehicles or “powers”, for lack of better term- and put them all together to make a…..well, an aptly named “Mega Zord” of all of them. You can use the included Ranger Keys (or your own, or any others that you might have or purchase) to activate the zord’s spinning drill arm. It works with other zords from the collection, and is a great addition to any Power Ranger lover’s collection.
