You can get to this destination by boarding some of the daily morning ferries from Mandalay to Mingun Jetty, or better still, join a sightseeing river cruise. The temple is all white and beautiful and comes with seven terraces for adventurers to explore. These terraces can easily pass for the mountains that rise to the mythical Mount Meru.
You must be very observant in this visit to spot the secret statues in the hidden niches which act as decoration for the waves of the temple.
That Burma pagoda sounds like an awesome trip. We visited quite a few, 2 years ago. Yangon, Inle Lake and Bagan were all fun spots.
