Hapari- Guest Post and Contest!

Getting a Workout through Everyday Chores
**This guest post was written by Hapari Swimwear. A fun loving, hard working business striving to bring the best swimwear in the world to women every where!**
Everyone wants to be healthier. Finding time to go to the gym can be difficult though, especially if you have other errands and chores you need to get done. Many people buy a gym membership on New Years, but by the time February has rolled around, they have already forgotten about it. Many people bought Wii Fits only to find out that other things began taking priority. If this sounds familiar, it might be time for a lifestyle change.
You don’t need to necessarily find time to go to the gym, but if you turn your everyday routines into a workout, you will have a better chance at seeing some results. Here are some things you can do to feel the burn while taking care of your daily tasks.
  1. Laundry – Turn regular laundry into a workout when you incorporate squats. Rather than dumping your entire basket into the top at once, do a squat to grab one piece of laundry at a time from your basket on the floor. If you have twenty or so pieces of laundry, you can build up your leg muscles in no time.
  2. Kitchen floors – It’s tempting to pull out the Swiffer mop, but resist the urge. Get down on your hands and knees for a better workout and a cleaner floor. Cleaning your floor by hand can burn 400 calories, and while you’re at it, you can do some stretches.
  3. Vacuuming – Do lunges while vacuuming your carpet. Each time you pull back to go over an area for the second time, switch legs so that you get an equal workout. These lunges are also a good idea while you are sweeping or raking leaves. Vacuuming can burn around 480 calories for the average woman, so make those minutes count.
  4. Grocery shopping – Speed walk down the grocery store aisles. Not only will this save you time in the store, but you can get in a little cardio exercise. Just make sure you check around corners before you barrel your way around them, since you could create a traffic accident if you aren’t careful. When you are putting the groceries away, do a squat to reach from the bag on the floor to the counter above you.
  5. Rearrange furniture – Whether you move the furniture to vacuum under it or you simply want a new look, rearranging furniture can give you the weights exercise you need. Make sure you have good form before pushing the couch out of the way, but don’t feel like you need to call for backup whenever you get the urge to change up the decor.
  6. Stairs – Whenever you need to go upstairs (or downstairs) take the stairs twice. Try running up and down them if you don’t want to take the extra time but you want to get in the workout.
It’s hard to find time to go to the gym, but you can burn quite a few calories simply by doing your everyday chores differently. If you make excuses to lift more and move more, you’ll be on the right track toward a healthier lifestyle.

Store Brand Baby Formula Wins a Final Round In Court

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of storebrandformula.com for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Earlier this week the US circuit court upheld a claim against Mead Johnson Nutrition Co. the company that makes the Enfamil line of baby formula products.  The claim was made by PBM Products Inc. a store brand baby formula manufacturer and was for the sum of $13.5 million dollars for false advertising.  This is a big deal because part of Enfamil’s advertising specifically said their brand was superior to the store brand.  This particular piece of advertising was direct mailed to 1.5 million consumers.  As a result of this unfair practice store brands upheld in court Mead Johnson was using misleading advertising in order to corner the market on baby formula.  In actuality both brands have the same exact nutrients in the same levels so therefor one can’t be superior to the other.  They are of comparable quality and the consumer should be able to see that and make an informed decision about their purchase, not based on a false mailing.
The courts also ruled that Mead Johnson must stop distributing the misleading advertising immediately  in order to facilitate fair practices.  For more information: more information .  A good source for information about store  brand formula: storebrandformula.com .

Lancaster- More Fun at the DoubleTree!

Hello and Happy Saturday!
We just got back from Lancaster, PA, and we had so much fun.  There was so much to see and do, and we can’t wait to go back in a few months and see what summer looks like!  🙂
While at the Double Tree Lancaster, a Hilton Hotel, there was a lot to see and do without even having to leave the campus.  The kids had a blast in the mini-water park that they had right inside the hotel, and of course there was a “grown up” pool as well.  They even had a hot tub!  We hopped into it for a second, but, no kids allowed, so, it was literally a second.  So, a bummed mommy- because I sure would have liked to stay in there for awhile!  🙂

There is a 3 hour bus tour that every guest gets to take.  We were able to go on a 90 minute tour, since we were only there for one night.  We were able to get a taste of some of the things to see and do (and eat!) in the area.  We got a great tour, some fun information and insights to the people and history of the area, as well as stopped to try out a few of the local delicacies  🙂
(Think home churned ice cream, hand rolled hot pretzels, and BBQ chicken to name a few!)
There is a lot to see and do in the area as well- Dutch Wonderland and Hershey Park are both local, and The Crayola Factory is also nearby  🙂  There is outlet shopping, fun food finds, Amish and Mennonite villages and tours- so much to see and do while staying at the Double Tree Lancaster, right in the center of it all!

I will be posting more about our trip all week- In the meantime- check out the website  🙂  Lancaster is a great place to go for a fun filled family vacation, and you won’t find a nicer place to stay then the Double Tree Lancaster!
Have a great night, and get some rest ladies!  🙂

We have been busy travelers today!
I can’t wait to tell you more, but I need to go, go, go now!  LOL- dumb blogger, why did you pick this weekend to go down?  Sigh.  At least it’s back now!

This place is beautiful- the grounds are lovely and well kept, the hotel itself is spotless, and the attractions in the area can’t be beat.  Oh, and did I mention they have their own indoor children’s waterpark?   Hmmm…that will get you thinking!  🙂
Be back with more later.  HUGS, and it’s good to be back.  Missed you guys!

The Blog is Back Up!!!

The blog is back up!  Well, mostly.   Ok- if you commented or left any entries into contests from Wendsday or Thursday, they “dissapeared” so…..please enter and comment again, I’m very sorry that the host crashed  🙁
Luckily I had the posts saved, so I can get them back up ASAP.  Of course- it wasn’t working Friday or most of today, so- nothing to lose, since nothing was able to be posted.

I am not home right now, but I have them backed up on my home computer and I will get them back up and ready for you to comment on and enter as soon as I get back on Sunday night.
Have a great weekend!
