Honeywell EnergySmart® Surround Select Ceramic Heater Review

With winter just around the corner, who doesn’t have the need for a Space Heater? I live in the middle of Kansas, where we have extremely cold winters!! My husband is definitely pretty frugal (I think that’s the best way to put it 🙂 ). He always likes to wait and see how long he can wait to turn on the heat. It was definitely no big deal when it was just the two of us, because I LOVE to snuggle up with blankets, but now that we have 2 younger children, it really isn’t an option for us to do!!

This past weekend it was already in the high 20s/low 30s! I was all for turning on the heater, but my husband of course was reluctant! SO, I recently received the Honeywell EnergySmart Surround Select Ceramic Heater to review! I couldn’t have been any happier. I KNEW this is one product that I most definitely could thoroughly test, as well as get some great use out of!

I decided it was definitely time to break it out of the box!! I got it out and read some of the instructions, to make sure that I didn’t mess anything up 🙂

Here are some of the features of the Heater:

  • Ceramic Technology for quiet, even heating
  • EnergySmart Digital Controls
  • 180 degree feature for directional heating
  • 360 degree tip over protection
  • Cool TouchCarrying Handle
  • Two heat modes
  • Programmable thermostat
  • 1-8 hour timer
  • 3 year warranty

My Thoughts:

I absolutely LOVED it. It works wonderful. Our living room is fairly large, so I wasn’t sure that it would be able to warm us up, but it definitely did. We were almost to the point of being hot. I LOVE the Cool carrying [Read more…]

Totoya iPad case

Ok so what is a Totoya? Other then a misspelling of Toyota. 🙂 It is a cool digital and physical life toy for your kids- and it’s really cute.

This toy has two equally important characteristics. One is the physical fluffy part, it is a big white cute monster which doubles as a tablet case and a plush for kids. The monster is about the size of a small pillow case, or just a bit bigger then an iPad itself. Once inside the Totoya, your iPad is completely enclosed all around by a layer of plush creature, saving it from possible disaster. The stuffing is soft and huggable, giving your iPad a more natural, stuffede-animal feel. This extra softness is especially useful once we get to the digital component of the product, part two- the app.

The app itself is available on the App Store for free, and is a personality for your new Totoya monster. There are a few variants available, including YetYet, Robotto, YetX, and RobX. (Two of which are for your iPad and two of which [Read more…]

All the awards in the world mean jack in the real world unless the software actually works. I can say this software does work. The greatest part of Vipre is its strength and its light weight. Vipre has a very small foot print and only uses minimal hardware. This is very nice compared [Read more…]

Guest Post- Educational App

Here is an interesting new service that could be a lifesaver for parents looking for an educational way to entertain their kids!
Science Days Out is a new iPhone app which promises to share the best science centers and other educational experiences in the US. It includes opening hours, websites, maps, pictures and , making it really easy to pick a place at the last minute, put the kids in the car and just go!
You can also see which attractions are closest to you and read reviews, as well as submitting your own.
All of the most famous kids’ favorites – the awesome USS Intrepid aircraft carrier in New York (did you know they put Concorde on the deck? – it’s amazing) and the Franklin Institute in PA, for example – are in there, although there are also plenty of smaller science centres in virtually every state.
It’s priced at $0.99, and there is an Android version is coming soon too if you don’t have a SmartPhone –but  if you do, why not give it a go and let fellow Moms know what you think? Just visit the site below or search for “science days out” in the app store on your iPhone/iPod/iPad!
