Rosetta Translation Services

Speaking another language can be difficult when in a foreign country, especially if that particular country is quite different from your native language and culture. For a small taste of this, try walking into your local ethnic market, of a different ethnicity then yourself of course, and try going grocery shopping. This will give you an idea of a different culture without veering too far from home.

pic2I say to try this, because we all need to step out of our comfort zone sometimes and into another person ‘s shoes.  Those of us who take for granted our ability to understand everything, should try to remember that it’s not that easy for visitors or tourists.  For those of us who love to travel, this means us ourselves from time to time.  Hey, I don’t speak Slavic!  Let’s say you are in a foreign country and, God forbid, something horrific happens where you need medical records translated into another language or legal documents, even financial information. How to Help Your Kids Cope With the Loss of a Pet

The death of a loved one. It’s something that none of us like to face and yet, it’s a part of life. And when that loved one happens to be a pet, it can oftentimes be really challenging for your children to emotionally process (especially if they’ve never lost anyone before).

Our dog, who passed away nearly 2 years ago. We still miss him.

Thankfully, there are some things that you can do that will help your kids to better cope with the loss of a family pet. If you’d like to know what some of those tips are, here are five supportive methods to keep in mind.

Listen to them. If you’ve ever had someone close to you die, then you know what it’s like to be filled with all kinds of emotions. You also know how important it is to simply have a listening ear available. Although it can be hard to see your children hurting, try and not focus so much on “fixing it” for them. Instead, provide lots of hugs and kisses and more than anything, your willingness to listen to whatever it is that your children have to say about what they are going through.

Answer any question they may have. Death can be really hard to understand. This means that during your children’s grieving time, there’s a pretty good chance that they are going to have a lot of questions. Ones like “Why did our dog have to die?” and “Where do dogs go when they die?” Sometimes, providing explanations can be difficult. If you go to your local library or even an online book website like Barnes and Noble, you should be able to find books that will help you to address any concerns your kids may have surrounding the issue.

Super Smash Brothers for 3DS #VideoGames

There are many types of video games available for purchase some are ok, some are good some are stunning gems. We are going to look at one of the stunning gems for the 3DS, Super Smash Brothers. Smash Brothers is a fighting game which has a plethora of Nintendo and non-Nintendo characters who face off in multi-person fights in last man standing type battles. Each character has different special attacks; different weapons, different speeds, and different heights and weights all of which will help you decide who your favorite is and who your personal enemy is. Personally I love Link and Little Mac. Each character can be broken down into three basic fighting categories, gunner, swordsman, or hand to hand. Mega Man is a good example of a gunner, his gun arm fires bullets and charged blasts at your opponents. Link is a swordsman who caries not only his legendary sword but also a shield and other items from his game. The sword has a longer reach then hand to hand but it take longer to swing the sword leaving the player open to attacks. Hand to hand is fast and furious with fists flying at a blinding pace but a limited reach Little Mac is an excellent hand to hand fighter.

Etymotic Kid EarPhones

Picture this, it’s a long car trip and your kids are playing on their various electronic devices. Hours of car ride progress.  Over the course of the ride you have heard Mario fall into a pit about 1,000 times and an Angry Bird launch 5,000 times at a minimum also you can now sing every note of the song for fruit ninja. What to do, other then turn these devices into road side litter? Headphones of course. But this can be a bit unnerving as well. Once you start to hear the sounds from their head phones now, you know the sound is up way too high and damage is being done to little ears which were fine just moments ago. The cheap ones are just that- cheap.  You get what you pay for, and they don’t last nor do they have great volume control. Why not upgrade your pair of headphones? There is a great set of earphones (that go into the ear canal) made by ETYKids that is also very easy to travel with.

Making the Most of a London Trip

London is a big city full of fun and adventure if you know where to look.  As any seasoned traveler will tell you, to really get to know a location, you must first check out the tourist spots like the London Eye, Madame Tussaud’s, and the Tower of London.  However, you must also check out some local hot spots to get a feel for the city.

Not only should you be the typical tourist and snap a million pictures of every nifty thing you see, but you should also take some time to explore and look around you without the camera lens to filter it.  Fine dining is great but so are small hole in the wall cafes full of locals and wonderful smells.

The key to being both the tourist and experiencing the local is locations.  You need to find central hotels in London in order to able to easily access everything.  Also ask around, there are tons of people to meet on while on travel so be friendly.  Don’t lock yourself in at night, talk to the employees at the hotel as well as other travelers and locals.  Find someone who seems like minded, and ask them about fun things to do.  Sometimes this works well, other times not so much- but this all part of the adventure of traveling.
