Coldcam Homeopathic Medicine Review and Contest!

Boiron, makers of great homeopathic medicines, recently sent me Children’s Coldcam to try out. I didn’t review it right away, because I actually wanted to use it and see how it worked, LOL.
The Coldcam comes in a little tube about the size of a chapstick- in fact, it is in the bag next to a Burt’s Bees chapstick, and I often mistakenly grab it when I am looking for the chap stick, LOL.
When you take the top off, you turn it to take out tiny little balls or pellets of medicine. They taste like sugar-water to me. Here is what Boiron has to say about Childrens Coldcam

Children 3 years of age and older: At the onset of cold symptoms, take 5 pellets every 20 minutes for 1 hour. Then take 5 pellets every 2 hours until symptoms are relieved. Allow the pellets to dissolve in the mouth.

Children younger than 3 years of age: Ask a doctor before use.

My Little Man has been out with a cold, strep, ear infection, croup, pinkeye, flu, etc pretty much non-stop this year- poor kid really has not had a chance to recover before he gets nailed again!
Kamikaze is always physically healthy as a horse, we are lucky in that respect with her.
It came with two tubes, so one kid each.
I really didn’t notice any difference. Little keeps getting sick, and he didn’t seem to get better any faster. Kamikaze had her cold for about 3 days- which is pretty par for the course for her. I don’t know if they worked. I didn’t notice anything. I’m sorry that I don’t have more to say on this subject- but I can’t tell you something that I didn’t actually experience.
One thing- Little Man and Kamikaze, who both take medicine well, both thought that these little pellets/balls of medicine were “fun”, and they liked when I turned them out of the tube for them. We went through the tubes kind of quickly- not because we were OD-ing the kids, LOL, but because the directions told us to give them 5 pellets every 2 hours. Seems crazy, but they are really tiny, and designed to dissolve on the tongue- so it’s not really as much as it sounds like.
However, the kids had no issues eating them. So, if your kids are difficult medicine-takers, this may be one to try out.

Jim’s Organic Coffee- Review

Ahhh, Friday at last!!!
I am so looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow. Oh wait, I have kids…that was a nice thought, thought, right?
So, we know we all need coffee. I am not as young as I used to be (isn’t that the oddest expression ever?) I never used to be a coffee drinker. But then I had my Little Man, and once I started working in the Pre-K so I could take him with me, I became one. I have to be at work by 7 am, and it’s a 45 minute drive, so that’s not fun. I brought a coffee machine to work. But now I had to find decent coffee. I really, really hate coffee. Like, a lot. And there were a few brands I didn’t want to talk about here, because I thought they were “junky”, or run of the mill at best. Really, who needs to hear about “eh” coffee, when I can tell you about FABULOUS coffee like Jim’s Organic Coffee?
I was sent 2 flavors to review. Bloggy Buddies, I love flavored coffee. YAY that Jim’s Organic offers several varieties!

The coffee, first off, smells amazing.
I was sent JoJo’s Java- a medium roast, described by Jim’s as “For my wife, this blend of grace, full of aroma and great taste. You’ll love its smoothness, its never bitter. So relax with a cup, leave the kids with a sitter.
Roast: Medium. In a word: Perfection.”

Tom’s Of Main Review

Hey guys!
Ever brush your teeth, only to have with that “not so fresh” feeling just a little while later? Yes? OK, me too! 🙂
That is, until “Wicked Fresh!” from Tom’s Of Maine.

Did you know that Tom’s Of Maine is number 3 on the annual Green Brands list for the second year in a row? Did you know they don’t test on animals? Tom’s Of Maine is concerned with the ingredients that go into their products. And they meet or exceed the standards set by various health, religious and animal-protection groups.
I like a company that cares. And Tom’s Of Maine cares about it’s product, people, and the planet.

A few weeks ago, Tom’s Of Maine sent me some of their new “Wicked Fresh!” toothpaste and mouthwash to try out. Wicked Fresh! Long-lasting Fresh Breath Toothpaste uses powerful natural flavor oils and a patent-pending botanical extract to provide long-lasting fresh breath. The ingredients they use represent their ideals – no animal testing or animal ingredients, with the living planet in mind.

I really like natural products. (I am sure you have noticed a pattern, bloggy buddiees!)
I am also crazy about oral hygiene, and dental care. I’m “that mom” who makes the kids brush at school, and keeps floss in my purse. Yes, I have a toothbrush and toothpaste at work, for both myself and Little Man 🙂
(Kamikaze has her’s in her desk.)
And now that toothpaste is “Wicked Fresh!” I have been a Tom’s Of Maine fan for a long time.
I use it on again/off again, because the hubby was not a fan. But he really likes the Wicked Fresh.
It was not “burn-y” when you used it, and it really did keep you fresh. Even after an everything bagel!

8 Natural Ways….

So, I saw this today. 8 Natural ways to enhance your fertility. NO, I’M DONE, thanks! LOL….
But, a dear, dear friend of ours is struggling with this issue….I hate seeing her sad. She will be the best mom, too. Did you know 1 in 8 couples have this issue? I didn’t. And, maybe some of my lovely bloggy buddies are, too. So, I thought I would put the link up, just if anyone wanted it.
