It’s getting cooler outside- Warm Up at CoCo Key Water Resorts! @DiscoverOhio #tourism

The weather is getting cooler- now is the PERFECT time to get away to CoCo Key Water Resorts!  You can play the day away at this Cincinnati, Ohio indoor water park, where no matter what the weather is outside, inside- It’s always Florida!

Find thousands of gallons of warm water at your fingertips as you enter this beautiful resort, with several room options to choose from when you plan your stay.  After you check in, make sure you check out the Shark Slam and Gator Gush, as well as several other body or raft water slides that will have you seeing summer (even if it’s snowing outside!)

The lack of long lines, having to pay to park, or drive to a separate location is already worth the trip.  CoCo, the adorable mascot, is sure to delight especially your younger park-goers (I know my son just HAD to have a stuffed CoCo, available in the souvenir shop for under $8!).  What child won’t be thrilled with a snorkeling parrot pal?

There are water slides and areas for the very small to the young at heart, and everyone in between.  There are slides and rides that everyone can enjoy, and your entire family will have a great time playing at CoCo Keys Water Resort.  (Life jackets are provided, so you can play without worrying!)

Mom and Dad can grab a drink at the Wet Rooster Bar, and the whole family can grab dinner at A&W or Pizza Hut.  There is also a restaurant at the hotel, and there is a buffet breakfast available.  You can plan your child’s birthday party at CoCo Key- not only is there the waterpark, but also a fun arcade available.
(For guests as well, of course!)

If you feel the need for a more little summer fun now that it’s a bit too cold for the pool- don’t fret!  Just give CoCo Keys a call, and book your reservation today.
Happy Swimming!

You can follow CoCo Keys on Facebook as well!

Travel in style with Trunki by Melissa and Doug!

If you are traveling with kids, you know that they like to carry their own stuff.  Well, maybe not ALL of it- just the toys  🙂   And they get to feel like they are contributing as well, when they take a part of their own luggage and have some responsibility.  The Trunki from Melissa and Doug is super cute, and what’s more, it’s functional.  Kids can not only use it for a suitcase, but also to sit on as a seat while waiting around, and the extra bags can fit inside to separate toys and other items.  They can also scoot along on it since it has wheels, LOL which is fun for them but may annoy those in the airport!  🙂

My son had so much fun decorating his Trunki with the stickers and accessories that can be purchased separately- you can get locations, letters, all sorts of fun things to personalize and accessorize your Trunki.

This style is “LadyBug”, and it’s very cute since it has little black spots all over it.  The horns are also handles, and he put his name on the side (as well as the name “Ladybug” on it).  He added some destination stickers as well, some we have been to, like the beach.  Some are “dream destinations” – you know, like the moon?  Hahaha.

It is very lightweight, and easy to carry- he can both wheel it and carry it all by himself, at age 3.  He loved having “his own” big boy suitcase, and he did feel like a big boy!  He kept all his favorites in there, like Dudley and Dudley, the twin Scare Me Nots, his horse Kentucky, his puppy Cooper, you know- all the ones you see all the time, haha.

Have Sippy Will Travel- and will travel with Trunki from now on  🙂
Happy trails!

AquaDoodle- All the Fun- NONE of the Mess! Great Kids Toy

AquaDoodle is one of my new favorite toys!  It is fantastic, and I can’t believe that I have not used it sooner.  I have to say- it was my own fault- I thought it was dumb.   I know, for shame!  I had never tried it, and just thought- how stupid!  Drawing with water, then it dries, the kid will cry that their painting is gone, they will get water everywhere, drive me insane, blah blah….and I was dead wrong.  I am super sorry, Aqua Doodle!

We were sent an AquaDoodle playmat and also a travel companion- a little penguin!  Since we were about to leave for Ohio, I thought that the penguin may keep them occupied in the car- but my first reaction was UGH.  But I was SO WRONG.  My son was there when I opened the box, so of course he wanted to play with the mat right away (I didn’t take the penguin out until after).

I put it on the kitchen floor, filled the “pen” with water, and handed it to him- and he was quiet for a full 45 minutes, playing with it, and then he danced on it for another almost hour!  My son let me make dinner, vacuum, and do a load of laundry AND check my email and even send out a few tweets- IN PEACE.  What?  The only thing he wanted, was after the mat was dry (from dancing on it, no doubt, LOL) he wanted a refill of the water pen to color on the mat again.  I’m officially buying this for all birthday gifts for children under age 7.

The penguin was great for the long car ride.  The only issue I had with him was that the pen kept getting stuck closed, and it was really hard to open.  Like, it took a tool to open it every time.  Luckily we had a tool kit in the car, but that was a pain.  The penguin was loved by both Kamikaze and Little Man- Kamikaze even consented to letting me put up her picture with it  🙂  So you know she REALLY liked it, haha.  Too bad she would not let me take her picture at the time, LOL.

For families that travel, I would recommend the stuffed animal Aqua Doodle for sure.  Just keep your receipt, so if your pen breaks, you can swap it out.  I think mine was just a fluke and defective, but better to be safe then sorry.

Your kiddo can choose a bear, dog or penguin and just add water to bring these adorable characters to life. They can doodle again and again, since designs disappear in minutes for a brandee-new doodle area. AquaDoodle is a mess free, creative and fun experience for your pre-schooler and beyond- maybe a teesnsy bit wet, but we all dry off, LOL.  What’s a little water? 🙂

You can follow AquaDoodle on Facebook HERE- don’t miss the fun Facebook news  🙂
Happy Doodles!  🙂

Bob Evans features “Farmhouse Deals”- win yours here!

We are BIG fans of Bob Evans Restaurants at this house- the only bummer is, that there is no restaurant that is nearby!  Good thing that we travel so much, or we would never get to stop in at one of our favorite places.  Priced right for a family with a budget, you won’t ever walk away hungry (or broke, either!)  As soon as you walk in, a friendly host will offer your children kids menu packages with crayons and a silly straw- they even get to choose the color  🙂   My son always take about a zillion years deliberating, LOL.  He is the biggest Bob Evans fan of all of us- as you know, he is obsessed with all things farm and Amish!  The Bob Evans we eat at most is located near one of our favorite places- Lancaster, PA (home of quite a few farms and Amish, so my son is in bliss!)  He always get the same meal- the Lil’ Farmers Breakfast, which includes 1 egg, bacon or sausage, pancakes, home fries- everything a little farmer needs!  🙂

Once this past summer, while we were in Bowling Green Kentucky at the Baymont Inn, my son saw to his delight that it shared a parking lot with a Bob Evans.  It was the day after his birthday- can I tell you how happy he was (and how many times we ended up eating there?  LOL).  At one point, at roughly 9 PM (and you all know his bedtime is always 7:30, and I don’t mess with that!) he was still awake in his bed, begging me to take him back to Bob Evans to get him a Little Farmers Breakfast.  Worn down and tired, I finally gave in.  It was almost closing time, and we had already had dinner there, so the waitress looked at me like I had 9 heads when I ordered a “to go” Little Farmers Breakfast, LOL.  What is a mommy to do?

Bob Evans now has these great “Farmhouse Deals“- featuring 10 different meals for $6 each.  Great price, right?  You can’t even get fast food for that price.  These ten meals are-

Bob Evans Sausage Gravy breakfast

Two Eggs, sausage, or bacon, and 2 biscuits,

Sausage and Biscuit Bowl

Spinach, Bacon, and tomato Biscuit Bowl

Boarder Scramble Biscuit Bowl

Homemade Meatloaf Knife and fork Sandwich

Slow Roasted Turkey knife and fork Sandwich

Chicken and Noodles Deep Dish Dinner

Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

Chicken and Broccoli Alfredo

I LOVE Bob Evans biscuits.  We don’t get a whole lot of biscuits in the area I am from, so I look forward to them when we travel.  Bob Evans also has great family style meals you can pickup and bring home for the family, perfect for those nights you don’t feel like cooking, or for holidays.

If you are in an area where there is a Bob Evans, I totally suggest you pop in and try these great Farmhouse Deals- for only $6, you really can’t go wrong.  Where else can you get a meal for that price?  A REAL meal, not a greasy drive-thru mess.  And if you are like me, and do not have a Bob Evans near you (Come on Bob!  Get over here!) that’s OK- you can do like me, and stop by next time you are traveling.  Family friendly setting, priced right for the average brood that wants to eat out and still pay the mortgage  (LOL) and they won’t make you wait long, either- thus making sure your kid(s) won’t turn into a wiggely, whiney mess  🙂

Stop on by the next time you are in town!
One of you will have the chance to try out these new meals for free- you can win here!

Travel in Style with BRX! Luggage that can REALLY stand up!

I am loving my new BRX  Travel Adventure Gear.  It was a bit rough to find, but worth the work!  I had searched for it online, and it came up that there was a local-ish store that had this fab luggage collection, and I was CRAZY excited- as a travel queen, I am always looking for stuff that can really hold up.  Sadly, when I got there?  Nothing to be had.  They also said they don’t carry the brand at all, so that was a bummer.  REI Stores are also now carriers of BRX luggage, so I called ever store within a 90 minute driving range- not one of them had it.  Blah!  So, I went to old reliable- the internet!  Briggs and Riley TravelWare had the whole set, so even though I couldn’t see them in person, it was cool to see the whole collection.

For me, as a writer and a blogger (not to mention resident Mama-razzi and up-loader of a zillion photos everywhere I go!) a great computer bag was my number one.  Mine was in dire straights, and I am thrilled to say that the new Excursion Messenger is FABULOUS!  I love, love, love it!  Besides being great for travel, I take it with me to work nearly every day, and it was the surviving computer of my flood.  So YAY for that! It was easy to grab and move.

The other thing I thought would be really, really useful is a great backpack- because really- what momma can’t use a killer backpack?  With a zillion pockets and padded straps- this Excursion Backpack is great for travel, and for everyday use as well.

As most of you know, I was actually away on travel when I found out about Hurricane Irene, and that she would be on her way to my area.  I left abruptly, and hightailed it home, making it back just hours before it hit.  When the storm hit, I was frantically moving things and trying to salvage what I could.  Because we were unable to use our own showers, kitchen, washing machine, etc- we were running about to other people’s houses quite a bit.  We were very much abusing the bags, since I was dragging everything about in it.

Here is the hubs- with the mandatory hurricane Doritos- on our way to my nearby cousin’s house, who had a working bathroom and shower.  Since we had to be able to walk wherever we went (we have evacuated the kids via National Guard boat to my mom’s house for a few days, the conditions were just not sanitary at all) the backpack was a lifesaver!

I’ll give you all a proper travel post with my fab new travel gear in October, when I will be on the road again!  (Since my Labor Day trip was clearly cancelled, LOL.)  If any of you are thinking of getting some new luggage for upcoming travels- even family visits for the upcoming holidays- I can HIGHLY recommend these!  They are killer, easy to clean (and in this current environment, that is so crucial!) and comfortable.  I am loving them!  And the online shopping is easy, so head on over!
We’ll talk more about them later.
Happy Trails in the meantime!  🙂
