Easter Baskets for Babies

3 28 14 028

Got a little one this Easter? Chocolate and candies won’t do, and some of the “big kid” stuff is overwhelming in little hands. Check out these fun, age appropriate ideas of what to fill their Easter basket with.

Cloud B Bubbly Bunny is adorable and perfect for baby’s first Easter morning. This uber soft plush bunny plays four soothing sounds that are begun by the push of a button.  Volume controlled by mom and dad, it also has a sleep timer option with 23 or 45 minute intervals you can choose from.  This sweet bunny makes an adorable Easter gift.  $30 at http://cloudb.com

Also available from Cloud B is Glow Cuddles Bunny, another cuddly, soothing option.  When your child hugs this bunny (or fusses), it mimics a heartbeat in sound and feeling, helping to calm your child to sleep.  It also has a steady glow, though not too bright that it would interfere with sleep.  $33 at http://cloudb.com

TOMY’s Lil’ Chirpers Sorting Eggs is perfect for a child who is becoming more mobile, or is learning colors, shapes, or sorting.  Not only is it good for learning, but it’s cute and brightly colored- and great for the holiday.  It contains two matching games, six eggs, and a carry/storage case. When an egg is “broken” open, a colorful chick can be found inside.  If your child presses on the head of the chick, a “peeping” sound will be made.  $12 at http://tomy.com

Battle of the Baby Diapers: Cloth Versus Disposable

diapers

Baby products make up a huge industry that caters to millions of parents, infants, and young children around the world. Of these products, diapers are among the most important of all due to them being essential items for all newborns up until the little ones have been successfully toilet trained. Babies go  through thousands of diaper changes until they turn two or three, which means they rely on good-quality baby diapers to stay clean and comfortable day in and day out.

The biggest discussion on baby diapers concerns whether the cloth or disposable variety is better. Each type of diaper has its own set of staunch supporters, who swear by the type of diaper they have used for their babies.

Traditional cloth diapers consist of a piece of soft cotton cloth wrapped around a baby’s waist and secured on both sides with safety pins. While some people still use this type of diaper, modern cloth diapers have changed a lot. Not only are they more stylish now, but they also feature an outer layer made of waterproof material, which prevents leaks from getting on to furnishings or clothes. The closure is often made of Velcro, which is reminiscent of disposable diapers.

With all the stresses of having a new baby, finding the perfect place for them to sleep, and worrying about all the what if’s is always on your mind. The makers of Lifenest Sleep System have done a great job taking one of your worries away.

About LifeNest:

LifeNest was created by a pediatric doctor for use in hospitals and homes, the Lifenest Sleep System helps prevent Flat Head syndrome. A baby’s head is delicate and head flattening can occur during the first three months of life – when the baby’s skull is still malleable. The risk of babies developing a flat head increases especially if they lay most of the time on a firm baby bed mattress and today, doctors say that one in two babies show signs of Plagiocephaly or Flat Head Syndrome.

The LifeNest uses the properties of a hammock with netting built into the mattress, Lifenest reduces pressure on the head by nearly 50%. The netting also would allow a baby to breathe freely through the netting if they were to accidentally roll over. There is a mesh fabric with venting channels. A baby could breathe straight through the netting, which would help reduce the risk of suffocation.

WIN Angelcare Digital Video, Movement and Sound Monitor

Disclosure: The below was provided to me to help facilitate my review. All opinions are my own and honest. I am disclosing this in accordance to FTC Guidelines. Please see “Disclose” tab for more information.

Parenthood is a rewarding experience, but the adventure of raising children comes with plenty of opportunities to worry. New parents face an increased sense of anxiety when it comes to the safety and security of their baby. When my son was an infant, I would feel an urge to go into his nursery to check on him through out the night, and sometimes that would wake him. My son isn’t a baby anymore, but that doesn’t mean the urge to check on him while he sleeps has diminished.

pic8There are a ton of video monitors available to ease the worried mind of a parent, but none of them can compare to The Angelcare® Digital Video, Movement and Sound Monitor. This monitor offers parents a monitor with a digital LCD screen and 2 way talk capability so that Mom can soothe her baby from a distance while the infrared camera makes viewing baby in the dark possible.

Amamante Night and Day Nursing Bra Review and Giveaway

I was fortunate enough to be able to do a review on the Style 2012 Night & Day nursing Bra from Amamante Nursingwear. As any nursing mother knows, a good bra is truly your “best friend.”

The soft, comfortable material is thin and very breathable. It does have a wide elastic band for support. It is designed in such a way, that it is very easy to push out of the way, and you don’t have to worry about messing with the clasps. I have found that it is extremely comfortable! I enjoy wearing it most times. It also is comfortable enough, that I really don’t mind wearing it at night either!

This bra fits from B to D cup sizes, you just have to get your band size, and it fits!! It is a great bra for when you are pregnant, or when you are nursing and your size is constantly fluctuating.

The Night and Day Nursing bra, is the same one that is integrated into their Signature nursing nightgown and the Serenity Nursing Pajamas, which is great for comfort.

Bedtime with PULL-UPS®

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of PULL-UPS Night*Time for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Bedtime in our house is an ever evolving ballet of movement, slowly running down to Little Man sleeping. This ballet has always had a few main components-

1)bathroom visit

2)song

3)story

4)bathroom visit

5)sleep

The initial bathroom visit is supposed to be the only one, before bed but usually isn’t. This visit includes teeth brushing, face washing and a use of the facilities. This is very important especially in potty training. Initially there is resistance in this step because this signifies the end of the day and the beginning of bedtime. With a few fun thing thrown in this step could be made allot more enjoyable for all involved. Take a look at PULL-UPS Night*Time Glow in the Dark . These diapers will glow in the dark after half a minute of light exposure and come in some cool character designs like Disney Princess and Lightning McQueen from Cars. Little Man loves anything Cars, especially Lightning. There are also coupons available which start at $1 value but can build up to $2 if you share the offer with friends and family. A nifty contest to win a $100 [Read more…]
