Greek yogurt is made with milk and an active yogurt culture. Actually, it takes about four gallons of milk to make a gallon of Greek yogurt. Like all yogurt, it is a good source of calcium. Before its packaged, Greek yogurt is strained to remove some of the excess whey, resulting in a creamier, thicker, more satisfying yogurt. Although brands vary, compared to regular non-fat yogurt, Greek yogurt typically has twice as much protein, less sugar, and less lactose.

Komodo Dragon Cake

100_2363100_2360100_2361First- let me say that I am not one of those people that can just “whip something up”, nor am I a fantabulous baker. This took me a LONG time to do, haha. Not perfect, but hey! (it tasted good, so shhhhh on the non-perfection, lol)

Second- I don’t like fondant. It’s gross. I made icing and covered it with green sugar and dyed green coconut, and it turned out pretty well I think, for a non-master-baker like myself.

What I Used

Two nine-inch round cakes. Cakes made from scratch will be denser and stronger than a cake mix- just be forewarned that the time you save using a mix will be spent cursing during the frosting crumb coat.

Milkmakers Review and Giveaway #Cookies

I’m sure that you’ve at least heard of Milk Makers. They are an absolutely amazing company. Which is why I’m thrilled to do a review for you as well as to offer you a giveaway of their great product.

About Milk Makers

Milk Makers is a company that makes wonderful nutrient filled cookies for breastfeeding mothers. The founder of the company, Emily Kane started it as a means to find a solution to her new issues when trying to balance going back to work and nursing her daughter. Milk Makers are packed with great flavors and fresh ingredients, as well as supplements that help boost a milk supply for a breastfeeding mother. Some of the supplements that are added are brewer’s yeast, oats, and flax seeds. For about $1.50 a day, a mother can boost her milk supply by eating a great cookie!

My Thoughts

I was very excited to give Milk Makers a try. I was able to successfully breastfeed my other daughter up to a year. I am not going to say that it was easy, as I am also a working mother! I It did get very tricky to be able to pump enough at work to compensate what [Read more…]

Nectresse Sweetener

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of NECTRESSE™Sweetener for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

For the most part we try to use as little sugar as possible in our house. Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule, like hot beverages. A cup of coffee or tea without a sweetener of some kind is much like a painter told they can not use the color blue or red. Completely absurd. 🙂

Take a look at this video by Lisa Ling,

We have tried many different sweeteners of all types including many all-natural and organic ones- most times these fall short of the pink, blue, and now yellow sweetener packs. But there is a new contender from the people who make Splenda, called NECTRESSE™Sweetener . Nectresse is a sweetener based on monk fruit, which is one of the sweetest fruits on the planet, nearly 150 times sweeter then sugar. [Read more…]
