We had the pleasure of trying a few of the cheeses available and tried the Havarti line, since that what our local stores carried. For those of you like us who aren’t very familiar with Havarti, it is creamy and buttery in flavor and is perfect for crackers and sandwiches as well as cubed as a light snack. We tried the Dill flavor and the regular flavor of the cheeses the Dill was a favorite of the adults and the plain was a favorite of the little guy. He enjoyed the dill but loved the regular. He enjoyed it so much not only was it an after school snack but also a requested addition to the next day’s lunch box which is always a rare event. Below is a quick recipe for a light nutritious lunch addition for kid or adults:

Nectresse Sweetener

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of NECTRESSE™Sweetener for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

For the most part we try to use as little sugar as possible in our house. Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule, like hot beverages. A cup of coffee or tea without a sweetener of some kind is much like a painter told they can not use the color blue or red. Completely absurd. 🙂

Take a look at this video by Lisa Ling,

We have tried many different sweeteners of all types including many all-natural and organic ones- most times these fall short of the pink, blue, and now yellow sweetener packs. But there is a new contender from the people who make Splenda, called NECTRESSE™Sweetener . Nectresse is a sweetener based on monk fruit, which is one of the sweetest fruits on the planet, nearly 150 times sweeter then sugar. This blended with other natural sweeteners is Nectresse. The sweetener is the sweeter then sugar and has zero calories too.

Making dinner can be both one of the most rewarding and at the same time the most tedious parts of the day. Reason being, a good meal on a Tuesday brings smiles to everyone’s face. Beerlicious- A Fun New Cook Book

There are very few things that go as well together as grilling, summer, and beer. There is a great new cook book by the grill master Ted Reader called Beerlicious Volume 1. This fun book teachers readers not only how to grill like one of the best, but how to grill with beer as one of the ingredients. Yay, this was a hit with daddy! Sometimes as a marinade, sauce, or even an ingredient in a grilled cake.

Double chocolate stout German chocolate cake is one of the most interesting dessert recipes. I have to be honest in my house we love the grill and nothing beats a nice barbecue on a warm summer night. But we have never had cake on the grill and this book opens up some new doors for us. There is extensive explanation of grilling with planks, for both fish and cake recipes. Planks are flavorful pieces of wood nailed together and put on the grill which act as not only a container for cooking foods in but also a way to add a new flavor to your food. The beers included in the recipes range from the well known with Budweiser BBQ Spatcocked Chickens, and Buttermilk and Beck’ s NA Marinated Grilled Veal Chops to the micro brews Wellington County Dark Ale Coffee-Crusted Porterhouse with Roquefort Butter and Big Wheel Buttered Smoked Brisket. This book makes the perfect gift for both the beer lover and the griller in your life.
