For the most part we try to use as little sugar as possible in our house. Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule, like hot beverages. A cup of coffee or tea without a sweetener of some kind is much like a painter told they can not use the color blue or red. Completely absurd. 🙂

Take a look at this video by Lisa Ling,

We have tried many different sweeteners of all types including many all-natural and organic ones- most times these fall short of the pink, blue, and now yellow sweetener packs. But there is a new contender from the people who make Splenda, called NECTRESSE™Sweetener . Nectresse is a sweetener based on monk fruit, which is one of the sweetest fruits on the planet, nearly 150 times sweeter then sugar. This blended with other natural sweeteners is Nectresse. The sweetener is the sweeter then sugar and has zero calories too.

We decided to use some of the Nectresse to make a banana milkshake.

Milk shake

We based the recipe off of the banana strawberry milkshake on the Nectresse website. But instead of using bananas and frozen strawberries we used a full size frozen banana.

Ingredients

1 full size frozen banana, pealed and quartered before freezing is easiest

1 /4 cup plain yogurt

1/3 cup ice

2 packets Nectresse

Directions, take all ingredients and put into blender, pulsing until the banana and ice ad mashed and mixed. Pour into chilled glass and enjoy. It is simple and works smashingly well. Also if you act now Nectresse is giving away free samples so you can go make your own milkshakes, FREE sample of NECTRESSE™Sweetener.
