Yesterday, I was able to “Dine, dance and discover” with Kristi Yamaguchi, the Alpine Lace Deli Cheese brand spokesperson in New York City.  At this event, we chatted about family life, what matters most to each of us, and the things that make out days that much better.  We also tried out some fun and delicious pairings with Alpine Lace cheese, and learned some dance steps.  Yep- we tore up the dance floor.  OK- maybe there was no actual “Dance Floor”, but life is what you make of it, ay?  We were dancing, it was a dance floor!  🙂

Kristi Yamaguchi (who was on the TV Show “Dancing With the Stars”) even gave us a performance of the Rumba steps to inspire the wallflowers among us.

At the Perfect pairings station, we spoke with the Alpine Lace test kitchen expert, who showed off a variety of food and wine pairings that go great with Alpine Lace Swiss. Some examples are chocolate, strawberries, crackers, cucumbers, and mortadella.

We then were able to create our own “perfect pairings” and try out new things, as well as pair up things that we already liked.  Come on, cheese and crackers are classic, you can’t pass that up.

Two professional dancers (one male, one female) were there to lead us in the Rumba at the dance station.  We were able to learn steps from professional dancers, who of course tried their level best not to make us non-pros look any dumber then we had to (hehe).  Ah, come on- like the saying goes- dance like no one is watching!  Even if someone is taking your photo…that’s how it goes, right?  Yep.

At the Life Ingredients station, everyone was able to meet and talk with Kristi, ask questions or answer her’s, and take photos in front of the sign where we added our own “Life Ingredients.”

All in all, a fun night out- and an inspiring one, food wise.  I will have to try some new recipes that I hadn’t thought of using cheese in before.

Comments

  1. How fun! Did you frame your picture with Kristi? I love adding cheese to my salads all the time. I know everyone likes to go on and on about bacon… for me, it’s that way with cheese. 😛

We are all huge cheese lovers here so when you try some new recipes, hope you share them with us.
