When is a sporty fun car a bit more- when its got Soul, of course. The Kia Soul has just that, especially the new version of them.

20140726_111204The newest Kia Soul is built upon the concept design from Kia for the Trick’ster concept which first showed up at the Chicago 2012 auto show. The concept packed more power and all wheel drive traction into a nifty design showing promise of things to come. The new Soul is the next iteration toward that future with a sportier exterior closer to that of the Trick’ster.

20140728_072826Driving wise, the car is a dream. It is smooth and has pick up, but is not as sporty as the previous Soul. But something keep in mind is with the toned down engine from 6500 rpm’s to 6200 rpm’s, you do get a more automatic friendly vehicle.  It does very well on gas, only making me tank up roughly 4 times to Virginia and back to NJ.

The Kia Soul base model starts at $15,495, the Plus $18,995 and the Exclaim $21,095 and is available now at a dealer near you. Give it a test drive and les us know what you think.

20140728_072834It also has more room then you would think for luggage (or groceries, whatever you are looking to move about) in the hatch-trunk.  We were able to get all of our things in there for a week-long trip and still be able to keep the trunk attachment on (I don’t like people to see what we have in the car if it can be helped).  If you have even more, it can be easily removed and you can pile even more in.

We had a great time traveling in the Kia Soul, and loved out drive.  If you are in the market, I would suggest stopping by your local Kia dealer and checking out the options.  You might find your new family car quite quickly.

I am considering buying this car in a year or two when our SUV dies. I want something that is a bit higher off the ground and gets good gas mileage. Thank you for sharing.
