Holiday Gift Guide- Aurorae Yoga

I love yoga. And on a day like today, I can’t wait to get home and pop in a good yoga DVD and just relax. (yes, I am sitting at work, way too early, writing this with no internet access on a laptop. Jealous????) It’s cold, rainy, and the heat is not working right! You know, the kind of day where your whole body is just stiff as a board and not cooperating?
Yoga is the best, relaxes your mind and body. I have also found that the longer I stay away from yoga, the more inflexible I become- both my body and my attitude. Just ask the hubs! He can always tell when I miss my weekly class. (I do take one class a week out of the home, no interruptions, LOL) He says I can be a bit of a monster when I do no yoga for a week or more, and I know he’s right.
I recently found a really great yoga mat, it is from a company called Aurore Yoga. It easily puts my old mat to shame. It’s nice and thick, and when I brought it to class, so many of the other women were asking me where I got it! Cases like this make me wish I had business card to hand out, LOL. When I really love something, I am always happy to spread the word. It’s called the “Northern Lights Mat“.
The mat that I received is awesome. My poor old mat didn’t stand a chance!

TGIF, I am SO GLAD it’s Friday.

Holiday Gift Guide- Life Without Plastic- Review and Giveaway!

I do my best to keep myself and my kids as eco-friendly as possible. One way I try to do this is to use as many re-useable products as I can for packing our lunches and breakfasts, and to make sure they are eco-friendly, as well. One company I have recently discovered is called “Life Without Plastic”. I can’t even imagine a life without plastics, LOL, but it’s a good dream to have! Life Without Plastic has a simple mission
“We launched Life Without Plastic (“LWP”) in 2006 after several years of daydreaming about how to make a contribution to reducing the large quantities of plastic that are consumed every second of every day around the world….As we continue to fulfill our goal of making available more and more high quality alternatives to plastic products, we are now able to begin focusing increased attention on an equally important element of our mission: raising awareness about plastics issues by providing solid science- and experience-based information and showing people, one person at a time, the beauty and simplicity of a life without plastic.”

I love the idea. I love the products! I was sent this bento box to review, and we all have tried it at one point.

Dad has taken it most of all, I guess he feels like it is manly because it is stainless steel, LOL. It is a good size for a sandwich, or really anything you want to put in there! Little used it for 2 hard boiled eggs, I used it for turkey slices, dad uses it mostly for sandwiches. (What can I say, no imagination, that guy!) Kamikaze was the last one to test it, because she loses everything and/or breaks everything. I labeled the junk out of the bento box, wished it well, and sent it on it’s way, lol. It did not come home that day, but did make it home eventually (thanks to a diligent lunch lady!) and it was not broken! I don’t know [Read more…]

Computer Crash

Just to add a little more “fun” to life, my computer crashed last night as I was uploading the Dinosaur Train Review!  Fun, Fun!  As of now, I have no access to any of my stuff, but my husband and his friend, both computer masterminds, are trying really hard to fix it for me.  In the meantime, I will be writing all my reviews and givaways so that as soon as I get my stuff back, I can post ASAP.
I’m trying really hard not to freak out, but I totally am.  Bear with me, sorry all!

Holiday Gift Guide – Dinosaur Train Toys!

All Aboard! Dinosaur Train, coming on through! That’s right, just in time for the Holidays, comes a fabulous line of toys from the edu-taining hit show, Dinosaur Train! (haha, I made up a word!)
Have you seen the show! If you have a PreSchooler, I am sure you have, and with good reason. This show is fun, adorable, and educational! That’s right, your kids can learn about something! (Good reason to let the TV run and give you a minute to make dinner in peace!) Now you know by now I am a picky momma when it comes to my kids and the TV. However, Dinosaur Train is a super show. It also has a great set of values- friendship, family, and kindness, as well as the value of education and valuing the differences in others. Not a fast runner? That’s OK, you fly really well! You can’t fly? Woah, but your teeth are really great! Another aspect I like? Buddy is an adopted member of his family. As an adoptive mom (as well as a biological mom, just like Buddy’s momma!) I really appreciate that aspect. There are not many shows out there that make adopted kids feel part of the “pack”, and for that, Dinosaur Train, this mommy salutes you!
Dinosaur Train has a really great set of toys out right now. We were sent Dino Fun Buddy to review, and he is just too cute!

Ages: 3+
SRP: $24.99
With Dino Fun Buddy, dinosaur play gets taken to the next level! This adorable dinosaur figure comes dressed in a Jr. train conductor’s uniform and includes a large watch face on his belly that acts as the info center. Insert any one of the 15 dinosaur information tickets into Buddy’s clock to trigger different phrases and dinosaur facts. When playtime is over, the train tickets store inside the backpack attached to Buddy’s back. With more than 120 dino details and phrases, Dino Fun Buddy is as much fun as he is factual.
