Fierce Fun Toys- Win a fun-tabulous toy!

I recently went to NY Toy Fair, and had the chance to hang out with some Fierce Fun Toys!  Some super fun toys to be seen at this booth- including our new buddy, Ben KaCHOO!  Poor Ben has allergies.  He is a Hippopotamus that lives in a swamp at the zoo, and the poor thing just can’t stop sneezing.  But he takes it all in stride and really makes the best of it!  He even makes a buddy because of his sniffles and snuffles.

Ben is super fun, and makes all the kids laugh when you read his story while making him ACHOO!! all the while.  The kids at the Pre-K were so excited that he made a sneeze when you squeeze his tail!  (He actually has six varieties of sneeze, as well as saying “WHOA!” and “Excuse me!”  Even Hippos have manners!)    🙂

Toy/Book Specifics…
The 10-inch hippo plush toy offers six  different ‘sneezes’, along with an “whoa“, and excuse me” with a squeeze of his tail! Clearly not your average hippo, or even your average sneezer!  Add on the 32-page brightly illustrated picture book (with a page of stickers) where after accidentally sneeze-jetting into a crocodile named Arrow, the two start an unexpected friendship.  How will this change the swamp? Toy and book are purchased separately.

Ben had a bit too much fun with the stickers in his book (the book comes with 2 pages of adorable stickers).  Ok, it wasn’t all Ben’s fault.  I had to go help a child who somehow got himself totally soaked in the bathroom from head to toe.  When I came back, Little Man and his buddy did some “decorating”…

What do you think of Ben’s new look?
He’s pretty, no?  LOL….eh, no harm, no foul!  There are 2 other toys that Fierce Fun Toys makes- and new ones on the way!
Currently also available are Harry Hiccers- a Hiccuping Koala, and Norman PhartEphant- a Pharting Elephant.

My Little Man thinks that Norman sounds like “the bestest toy, mom, the very bestest- can you get him now?”  and  “Mom, Mom….MOMMY!  Ben needs a friend, he’s so lonely, mom!  The Norman needs to come here now and play with him.”
Yes, “The Norman”.  LOL.  Ben is really fun, and the kids all loved playing with him.  Reading the story was great.  I don’t want to tell you too much about it and ruin the suspense, LOL- so lets just say he meets an unlikely buddy in an unlikely way.
And this is a great company-  founded and run by a Mommy- that cares about kids.  A company that cares!

“Beyond bringing humor and big messages to growing minds, Fierce Fun Toys, LLC is a philanthropic for-profit company the donates a portion of our proceeds to a few amazing charities that help children  everywhere, including Half the Sky (supporting orphans in China) and Smile Train (helping children with cleft lip/palette worldwide).”

I love companies that care- and companies run by mommas!  GO FIERCE FUN TOYS, you rock!

Pocoyo wants your help!

The beloved children’s character, POCOYO, has been named the first official Global Kids’ Ambassador for the World Wildlife Fund’s 2011 Earth Hour initiative on March 26, 2011.

As the newly appointed Global Kids’ Ambassador for Earth Hour, Pocoyo is primed for his latest adventure—to raise environmental awareness among today’s children. Empowering kids, their parents and caregivers to “turn off the lights” during Earth Hour (March 26, 2011 at 8:30 pm)—and to incorporate easy, environmentally sustainable actions “beyond the hour”—Pocoyo encourages kids to play a vital role in saving our planet!  As today’s children are tomorrow’s guardians of our planet, their involvement and sense of responsibility is vital.

Through innovative animation content and online activities, Pocoyo will encourage children around the globe to get involved in the.  Children will be asked to turn off lights in their homes for one hour beginning at 8:30 pm (in their respective time zones) in what has become a worldwide collective display of peoples’ commitment to protect the planet.

In 2010, the Earth Hour message reached 1.3 billion and the event saw hundreds of millions of people switch off in more than 4,616 cities and towns in 128 countries.

Organizers are looking to extend the Earth Hour “Beyond the Hour,” inspiring us all to include small changes in daily habits–taking the bus instead of a car or even riding a bike to work, for example–which will collectively benefit the planet and create a better future.  The campaign will also leverage the power of social media as a means of engaging and inspiring eco-friendly changes in people’s lifestyles around the globe.

5 Little Bunnies board book- review and CONTEST!!!

Just in time for Easter, I have the cutest little book for you! It’s called Five Little Bunnies, and it is a rhyming book aimed at kids up to age six. It comes with a CD of the story being read, plus 19 songs. The kids at the Pre-k really liked it, and Little Man LOVES his “fluffy bunny book”. He LOVES bunnies!
The book is pretty basic, teaching children the numbers and counting 1-5. But the illustrations are really adorable, and the kids live hearing the CD version after it is read to them. Twin Sisters, who made this adorable little book- are really into educational music, and take your children’s educational growth very seriously. Good news for moms of Preschoolers! (and Pre-K teachers, too, hehe!)

The songs are a sweet addition, and this is a great addition to any little one’s Easter Basket. I don’t know about up to six years old, but I think any kid up to age 4 or 5 would get a kick out of it.
And HEY MOM’S!! This book is ON SALE- for only $6.99! Total bargain, and a better Easter basket stuffer then a bunch of jelly beans!
You can order a cop of Five Little Bunnies HERE, and you can also enter to win one below!

PawParazzi! Review- Plus a Contest!

With Valentines Day just past, I feel the need to spread some love! Don’t you? So I thought, what is more lovable then cute and cuddly puppies and kitties? And of course, some of the cutest pets (besides Super Chaac, of course!) come from Pawparazzi! Pawparazzi has some new puppies and kitties out now- as if their last collection weren’t cute enough! These cute little pets come with their own wardrobe and accessories, and you get a little bag to carry them all in. (A very fancy bag, so the preschool says!)
Little man chose to review Cooper. (Now, I know some of you think that Pawparazzi must be only for girls. First- you know I don’t go in for “boy only” or “girl only” toys. I think kids can play with whatever suits them, as long as it is not violent or harmful. Second- No way, Jose! Cooper came with a blue bag, which the girls called a “purse”, and the boys called a “beach bag”. Cooper is a fur-buddy for everybody!)

NEW Pawparazzi Set – Cooper

Cooper, Legendary Surfer Dude, is ready to hit the beach! With the pawsome beach playstage built into his box he’ll be hanging 16 right out of the package!

Set Includes:
Pet, Purse, Blanket, Trading Card, Surfboard, Board Shorts, 8.5″ x 11″ Poster, and Beach Scene Playstage

Age:
4+

Little Man has had Cooper for a while now, and I can tell you that Cooper is going into Little Man’s “Toy Hall of Fame”. You guys know that there have been several toys which Little Man has consistently stuck with and gone back to, no matter how much time or how many holidays have gone by. Cooper is going to be one of them. Little rarely puts Cooper down, and while we stopped bringing him into the Pre-K with us (one of the kids lost Cooper’s slippers! Little was so sad. Another kid had the audacity to touch Cooper with sticky-jelly hands- and now he has a little stain, so Little Man lost his mind! LOL, poor Little Man!) but he takes the drive nearly every day with us. Cooper just hangs out all day in the car seat, in his little bag with all his fun accessories, and waits until Little Man gets out of school to play with him again. It’s just safer for Cooper in the car then at the Pre-K (come on, you’ve all [Read more…]

Frohog

A little cutie I met at NY Toy Fair- Frohog!
I know I mentioned how cute these little guys are- Frohog has friends, and let me tell you, one is just cuter then the next! But there is something else that makes Frohog stand out among other toys. Yes, he is adorable, which is what caught my eye initially. But, also- he is made with love, and he spreads the love!
You know how I love companies that care? This one, who just launched, had an auction on E-Bay for their spokes-stuffie, Frohog, to raise money for St. Jude.

HOW MUCH WOULD YOU PAY
FOR A STUFFED ANIMAL?

Luvmpetz is auctioning off rare Frohog
and giving all proceeds to St. Jude

TEMECULA, Calif. – Someone would pay $100 or $200 for a stuffed animal?

When it comes to the very first Frohog ever made and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the
potential is unbelievable.

Frohog (pronounced frō-hôg’) is the one of the 11 characters in the inaugural Nuttipetz collection to be
revealed to the world by his creator, Luvmpetz International, LLC, on Sunday at the American
International Toy Fair in New York City.

Frohog is an utterly unique plush animal friend that is one part feisty frog and one part happy little hog.

The first Frohog [Read more…]

Baby GoGo- A Fabulous Contest for you!

Valentine’s Day is coming, and I think we need to spread the LOVE! I think you all know how much I love Baby GoGo. That is not a secret! I have done a few posts and updates on this cute little baby doll.
Gender neutral and adorable (as well as being the perfect size for a little one to carry around!) Baby GoGo is our favorite doll to date. We reviewed Baby GoGo a few months ago, and I am going to re-post part of my review here (for any new followers, and just to refresh your memories!) But- I have gotten to see Baby GoGo in action at the Chicago Toy and Came Fair (where even Darth Vader was a fan!) and I will have some updated photos for you at the bottom of the post.

This cute baby doll, Baby GoGo, was initially created for the preparation of a younger sibling about to join the family. That in itself is a really good idea- our older children will certainly have some feelings regarding a new member of the family, and helping them learn about babies, how they will come home, what being a big sibling will be like, where mommy will go to have the baby, etc will all go a long way in making them feel included in the process.

Baby GoGo is also gender neutral, which means that it is made for either boys or girls. I can’t stand it when people cringe or judge a boy for wanting to play with a doll or other “girls toys”. There should be no classification between “boy’s toys” and “girl’s toys”- if someone told my daughter she couldn’t play with a football or a truck, I think I would lose it! I feel the same way about macho attitudes about boys playing with a doll. We want our sons to grow up and be good men, loving husbands, kind fathers, involved in the lives of their children- yet some cringe at the nurturing aspects of our son’s behavior, and would deny them the chance to grow and express these emotions and instincts.

About a year ago, Little Man wanted a doll and carriage. We found him an all blue doll after quite a search, ordered online. His uncle made him a stroller, then found a gray carrier when he was out of state and got it for him (he has a good uncle!) I gave him a black diaper bag I had- it’s too big for him to really carry around, but he likes to play with it. It’s hard to find stuff for a sweet little boy who wants to play daddy! (Remember Baby GoGo [Read more…]
