Fall-Winter Style Guide: Pants Every Woman Must Own

Have you recently been crushing over those trending black leather pants and want to include it in your wardrobe? But then, you’re even eyeing on the checked straight trousers that you saw online the other day.

It’s okay, don’t feel guilty because you can never have too many pants and to be honest, there is no such thing as that.

Now that you’re obsessing over upgrading your wardrobe with smarter pieces, we suggest that you include all or at least a few of these pant styles. You can trust them for a great look anytime and they will definitely help you rock the day. So, stop by, have a look, and shop these cozy yet amazing styles.

Get work-ready with your warm wool trousers

So, it’s that time of the season again. Trade your chinos, coloured cotton trousers, and flared pants for warm wool trousers. Wide-leg or loose-fit, checkered or striped, choose any of these for your work and pair them with your regular blazers, blouses, and work boots/shoes. Not only can you pull off this look while at work, but it works amazingly well when the weekend hits. Slip into them and you are ready for an essential meetup.

Leather pants, perfect for your date night

Well, holiday dressing was never this easy.

Skip that repeated dress blunder and instead invest in good quality leather pants which you can team up different blouses on different occasions. They are just perfect as they add a lot of glam and fab to any simple outfit. Besides, add ankle-length boots to your look and you are ready to rock any day or party. Besides, you surely will make a lot of heads turn on your date night.

Velvet trousers to slay at night

Why not put your chic face on with velvet trousers this winter? These are perfect for the night owls who love to party and can’t get enough of the fabric. Make sure you choose a bit relaxed fit and avoid skinny styles as it is more about embracing the laid back ensemble. Pair it with a chic sweater or blouse and you are all set to celebrate Christmas and the New Year. You can add an additional layer of a statement coat or jacket to keep yourself warm.

Track pants for a ‘not-so-sporty’ vibe

Do you ever wonder how you can flaunt your style with a pair of athleisure posh trackies?

Choose your navy or black track pants and club them with a shirt, chic sweater and heels. And, you are already smartened up for your office. However, for other informal engagements, simply add trainers and you’re done.

A pair of jeggings to the rescue

Ditch your skinny denim for the comfy jeggings when you want to just chill or are on the move. Bank upon them anytime and you will never be dissatisfied. They look a lot more attractive than those baggy sweatpants and are extremely comfortable. So, make your errands effortlessly chic with a pair of trendy jeggings. Pair them with your best sneakers and add an additional layer which can be a suitable option for your holiday mornings.

Final Word

Now that you’re aware of the winter pants which are doing the rounds this season, make sure to add these to your wardrobe. These will not only keep you warm and cozy throughout but also are the perfect way to slay any outfit.

Meanwhile, all security providers and law enforcement professionals can be rest assured as you can easily carry or conceal (if you wish to) your Safariland holsters on all of the aforementioned styles. After all, what’s better than ‘work and slay’. Happy shopping!

Shopping for kids: The stress-free guide

As most adults will testify, nothing quite beats a touch of retail therapy. It’s something that most of us crave, but life responsibilities tend to mean that it doesn’t happen anywhere near enough as it should. When it comes to children, shopping doesn’t quite have the same appeal. Instead, it’s regarded as one of the most frustrating pastimes around – even if the experience is geared to their requirements!

Unfortunately, kids need clothes – and these shopping trips are a necessity. Today’s article is, therefore, going to focus on some of the best tips you can implement to ensure that the day is as stress-free as possible, while still ensuring that you come out of it with plenty of suitable garments for your little one.

There’s no one-fits-all rule

There’s no doubt that the internet shopping era has made life a whole lot easier. However, there is a debate as to whether this approach is really going to work when it comes to choosing appropriate kid’s clothes.

Unfortunately, not all brands are equal when it comes to size. What might be classed as suitable for a 5-year-old in one shop is more like a 3-year-old’s in another. It means that unless you know a brand inside-out, you need to ask your child to try most things on. It might mean a trip to the shops in Covent Garden or your local area of choice, but it will be worth the time.

Make shopping into a game

Of course, there’s one issue with the above suggestion – shopping with kids can be quite difficult. As we’ve already spoken about, it can be difficult to convince your little ones to venture to the high-street and even when you do, battling through sulky faces can make for a difficult afternoon.

This is where you need to get creative. All children enjoy games, and this is the path you need to turn to if you are serious about keeping everyone happy. This doesn’t have to be an extravagant game by any stretch of the imagination; it might be as simple as asking your little one to see who can be the first to see ten different pieces of red clothing.

And then – the reward factor

As adults, clothes are a sufficient reward. Suffice to say; the same philosophy doesn’t apply with kids. Going out and shopping for clothes is a boring exercise, and this means that you need to build rewards into the day. Again, these rewards don’t have to be significant; it might be an ice-cream if they can get through a couple of hours of shopping moan-free. Or, it might be nipping off to the arcade. In other words, find out what makes your child tick (sometimes it’s not rewards), and try and motivate them this way.

Pick your moments

Finally, some days are more suited to these trips than others. If you know that your child is tired, opting for a shopping extravaganza probably isn’t going to end well for anyone. Yes, you do need to compromise with your plans, but this can make the final result much more fruitful for you all as a family. Spending time together in this way might even help you to bond in the long term.

Spring Fashion for a Cause #Education #InvestInGirls

Spring is in the air and Easter is around the corner, Olivela not only offers great spring fashion finds,  but a significant portion of every purchase goes to help educate girls worldwide (cause partners include Malala Fund, Too Young To Wed and CARE for Syrian refugees).

Olivela started when Founder and CEO Stacey Boyd joined Malala Yousafzai on a visit to refugee camps in Kenya and Rwanda. There she met amazing girls with extraordinary stories of overcoming poverty and war and escaping forced marriage to pursue their educations. She realized that the opportunities she and her two daughters are lucky enough to have—access to education and the ability to live life on their own terms—these girls literally had to risk their lives for. In that moment, it became crystal clear that while talent is equally distributed, opportunity is not. It was from that realization that a new kind of retailer was born, one with giving back built into every, single transaction.

Olivela is a luxury fashion and beauty platform that offers unique styles from the world’s best designers with 20% of each sale directly benefiting the education of girls worldwide through best-in-class partners CARE, Malala Fund, and Too Young To Wed.

How Olivela Works

  • Consumers: shop their favorite designer fashion and beauty brands.
  • Olivela: Gives 20% of the proceeds of anything purchased directly to one of their partner children’s charities.
  • And at absolutely no additional cost to the shopper.

Impact:

Since launching, Olivela has provided over 41,000 days of school to at-risk girls through Malala Fund, CARE and Too Young To Wed.

Boutiques:

The online platform opened their first physical boutique in Nantucket this summer, the first of 15 boutiques to open across the country through 2019. The next will be opening in Aspen in December.

Back to School Shopping for @BTFE at @Costco #ad

Disclosure- I receive monetary compensation from General Mills in exchange of my endorsement of Box Tops For Education.

costco

Getting ready for back to school always requires a fairly big shop. When you have kids, so does the weekly grocery shopping trip, am I right? It’s bananas how much food these little hoovers consume. I have no idea where they put it, either. This is one of the main reasons I became a Costco member- that, and because they are often cited as one of the most ethical large companies out there. I try to shop small, shop local, and shop ethical whenever humanly possible. They tend to have higher quality products, sustainable sourced and ethically produced, as well as a fair pay for employees and a compassionate working environment. Imagine that! If only all companies acted like that. They do well for it, as well. The stores are always clean, and shopping experiences are easy and pleasant. Well, that’s not counting for the kids- but no store is responsible for that, LOL.  They almost always have “sample stations” throughout the store that you can bribe the kiddos with, however. Smart thinking, Sell more products, since we buy what we like, AND no hangry customers. Very smart.

The prices are fair, and less since you buy in bulk as well. This also means more time between trips, hopefully! I also like that they don’t use bags- bring your own, or use boxes, or just load directly into your car. Easy.

You can get SO MANY Box Tops for your kids school while you are shopping for items you already love, like Lucky Charms, Mott’s Fruit Snacks, and Nature Valley. Because the boxes are large, you often get “bonus” Box Tops as well- more money for your child’s school. Bonus, indeed.

What’s stopping you? Head over and become a member today. You can even pick up a prepared dinner while you were there. What? Hey, it totally counts as cooking. Shhh.

Plus, they have a contest going on where you can win 100 Box Tops! Check out this site to see more.

Back To School with Amazon

Disclosure- This blog post is sponsored by Amazon.

Getting the kids ready for going back to school? It’s that time of year, and if you are anything like me, you also dread back to school shopping. I try to get at least some of it done online. Amazon is the one-stop-shop for all things BTS – allowing moms, dads and kids to find products that are as unique and individualized as they are, which gives kids confidence walking through the halls on the first day of school.

Amazon makes it easier, with just about everything you need available at the click of a mouse.  Most schools send home a list of what the kids will need for the upcoming year either at the end of the school year prior or have one available online at some point over the summer. Then, of course, will come the “Surprise! You still need these things!” list that will come home on the first day of school, which is just done to mess with us parents who just want some normalcy back in our lives already, LOL.

back to school shopping

Yes, you can even find coveted glitter glue.

Between your facepalmed fingers, take a look at Amazon’s school supplies list and make your lives just a little easier. They deliver. You can stay home. No, you don’t even need to put pants on if you don’t want to, and no one will ever be the wiser.

It’s true.

From the basics like notebooks and pens to more fun items like “smelly markers” that are maybe a little nostalgic for mom and dad, your back to school shopping needs will be that much easier and faster to pick up in one fell swoop.  Regular felt tip markers in several varieties as well, if that’s your preference.

Don’t forget to check the kiddo’s backpack, lunchbox, and sneakers while you are at it. Goodness know they have likely destroyed (or ourgrown) everything by now. Yes, you can grab uniform gear as well- whatever you need.

That’s one less thing I need to worry about this week. Now, if only I can figure out how 3 kids ate 12 yogurts and 2 bunches of bananas in 2 days, I’d be in good shape. They are teaching that in common core now, aren’t they? I think I need a class on that…

When Your Kid is Having a Public Meltdown #GroceryHero #ad @Walmart

This might seem like a strange photo- but he wouldn’t stop crying until I gave him this carrot and that potato. We’ve all had those moments where our children are little beasties in public- and where we will do ANYTHING to make it stop and just get out of wherever we are in one piece.  What can we do to make shopping easier with little kids?

Impatient leg swinging from the shopping cart seat is often followed by a litany of Mom, Mommy, and MOM! Even when I respond there are times that my little one just doesn’t stop. Then there are the forceful kicks to emphasize his impatience. Maybe you avoid those dangerous little feet, maybe you wind up with a dirty shoe scuffing up your white shirt. Or maybe you share my experience… a day when those scuff marks were more than just dirt.

I confess that I don’t love all things poop related and blown out diapers and clothing. What, you know someone who does? Diaper days were not my favorite. So that day between the tantrum throwing toddler in a store I visit regularly, what I can only figure was dog poop (please?) transferred from his shoe all over my embroidered white shirt, and an otherwise too stressful week- there was a scene of epic proportions. I was almost in tears myself by the end of the shopping trip. And of course- THE LOOKS you get from other shoppers, ugh.

When I discovered Walmart’s Online Grocery Pickup I was elated. I get to stay in the car, cut my errand time by 80%, and save myself from the grocery store drama. I have always loved shopping, but that is one thing my munchkin did not inherit. Now I can browse from the comfort of my home, get everything my family needs, and just drive by and pick everything up. Someone looked at my life and found a solution for one of my biggest stressors. Now first time users can use promo code WOWFRESH for $10 off and find the bliss I have discovered with Walmart’s Online Grocery Pickup.

Once you and your child have bawled your eyes out in a shopping aisle it is hard to go back to traditional shopping and now there are other options to save me from my shopping terror.

Next time you shop? Use promo code WOWFRESH for $10 off your first Walmart Online Grocery order, and save yourself some cash and hopefully some sanity.

Must Have Shopping with Babies Accessory – Binxy Baby

Disclosure- We received the below in order to facilitate this review.  All opinions are our own. For more information, see “I Disclose”.

20160805_172456

I’m sure that there are many of you that have been shopping with a baby before!  It can be so hard to shop with a baby before they are actually able to sit up. That problem happens no more thanks to Binxy Baby.

History of Binxy Baby:

As a busy mom of three, Lisan Pinnell was doing her big “stock-up” shopping with a toddler and newborn a few years ago, and realized she had a problem. She needed to fill her cart with a week’s worth of groceries, but could not, for the life of her figure out a safe way to contain two kids while doing so. She tried everything: A sling, a stroller, even two carts. She tried putting the entire infant car seat down in the grocery cart but had to cut her trip short when she couldn’t find the baby under the piles of bread and coffee.

Lisa was determined to figure out a solution to her problem. The end result was a fun, easy, convenient, and most importantly, simple way to safely hold a baby plus a basket full of groceries.

My Thoughts:

I am absolutely in love with this amazing product. I was looking forward to using this product a great deal and was so happy to try it out. My daughter absolutely loves it as you can see in her photo. I was worried about putting it on the cart and holding a squirming baby by myself. I decided for the first time to use it I would just park close to a cart rack in the parking lot and grab a cart and get it situated before I got her out of the carseat. That worked wonderfully, but I must admit that it was not hard to get it put on and I now can do it while holding that squirming baby :).

I love how it safely sits on the cart and it is perfectly comfortable for my daughter. I can do all the shopping I need to and not have to worry about no room to put stuff because the carseat was sitting down in the cart. I always had read that you were not supposed to put your carseat on the cart like so many people do. I am a big rule follower so I never set it on the top of the cart. I love that you can also put your carseat in the holder safely as well if you want to carry the carseat in.

I am going to be recommending this amazing item to everyone I know that has a young child or is currently expecting.

Kohl’s for Mother’s Day

Disclosure: The below was provided for me in order to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own and honest. I am disclosing this in accordance to FTC Guidelines. Please see “Disclose” tab for more information.

Looking for the perfect place to shop for Mom?  Or maybe your wife- since some of the kids are too small to shop on their own, dad’s or partners will have to help out a little. One of my favorite stores to shop at has always been Kohl’s- while I will shop anywhere that strikes my fancy, there are only a handful of stores that I consider myself a loyal shopper of, and Kohl’s is one of them.  Check out my closet (and those of my husband and son as well) and my housewares if you’d like to verify, haha.  I love Kohl’s because they have everything for everyone in your family, as well as housewares, outdoor supplies and furniture, even travel gear.

Cruise and products 370

They also have awesome sales, you can get Kohl’s cash (free money to spend in the store just for making purchases) to use, and shopping is easy both online and in stores as well. Also, as a bonus, my son often gets to choose a stuffed toy at the end of the register if he’s a good boy the whole trip.  Now, I always expect good behavior from the kiddo, but with the high quality and adorable toys and books that Kohl’s offers for just 5$ (and the net profits going to organizations that benefit children) I never mind spending it and letting him have one.
