On September 7, Thomas the Tank Engine left the Island of Sodor to explore the world in his all- new movie “Thomas & Friends: Big World! Big Adventures!”  In addition to the new movie, “Thomas & Friends: Big World! Big Adventures! The Series” made its debut on September 17th.  In honor of Thomas and his travels we decided to throw Thomas a farewell party.

About the Movie:

Thomas leaves Sodor to fulfil his dream of seeing the world. This heroic quest takes Thomas across deserts, through jungles and over dangerous mountains as he travels across five continents seeing sights he has never seen before.

Thomas & Friends is a classic that never gets old. My oldest is 11 and my youngest is 2; and all four of my children love Thomas. As a mom, I love it too. I honestly didn’t think I could love it more, but I do. It’s packed full of important lessons from never giving up to telling the truth. The new series focus on encouraging kids to take adventures and empowering girls; which, I have to admit is a huge plus for this mom of two girls. I always tell them they could do anything as long as they put their mind to it and this new series will encourage that as well.

For the big night, a couple of the kids’ friends gathered to watch the new series and movie debut. We had some yummy popcorn, fruit snacks, and fruit punch (we kept it a little light since it was just about dinner time). After the movie the kids enjoyed putting the train track together and making up the different adventures the little engines encountered.

Edushape Ladybug Sorter Makes Learning Fun

Being a mom of four on a limited budget I have picked up on a few hidden secrets that only mothers know. The most important one is that the best kind of toys are the ones that offer a wide variety of skills and uses. Edushape Ladybug Sorter does just that! This post is a sponsored post, but all opinions, stories, and my experience are all personal and true (like always)!

About:

Equally comfortable on the table, floor, bed or bath, the cute Ladybug Sorter provides educational and developmental play. The Ladybug Sorter can float on its firm Edu-Foam lily pad bottom and include six unique shapes to for sorting fun, water play and learning.

My Thoughts:

The beauty behind this toy is that it can be used just about anywhere. It can be used on the floor, on the table, in the bathtub, or in the kiddie pool. Outside of the ability to be used on multiple surfaces it also has multiply education values. It is perfect for practicing fine and gross motor skills. It works on their logic, reasoning, and hand-eye coordination skills. While doing this all it also helps improve their visual sensory development. This toy is a dream come true for us mommies. It’s educational and has multiple purposes.

The question is does it pass the kid test? Short answer is yes. My six year old and my one year old both love playing with it. Carly tends to play with it mostly in the bathtub while Lee Lee tend to plays with in on the floor. I can truly test to the fact that this ladybug is one that is built to last. It has held up through many tosses from Lee Lee. There is not a scratch or dent on it.

This fun learning toy is a great gift idea as well as a way to encourage hands on problem solving in a colorful way. My kids have had a ton of fun with it, so I am sure any little one in your life will love it too!

DiscoRobo – Fun Radio and Robot For Eevryone

DiscoRobo is back with even more fun.  DiscoRobo is TOSY Robotics fun, dancing to the music robot.  The little guy can dance to any music played or even hand clapping, beatbox, drum beats, or foot steps- although the best is music with a lot of bass in it.  It is great fun watching the little guy shake and move on the floor or on his radio.  In addition to the regular dancing DiscoRobo can do, there is also a special headstand where he can do said headstands and breakdancing moves.  This is interesting as well, but DiscoRobo shines as an on the floor dancer.  His face changes to the music as well, completing the scene for a dancing robot in your living room.

discoroboThere is also a way to interact with DiscoRobo via his app, available for iOS, Android and Windows.  This app lets you chat with and commend the robot to do as you wish, within its capabilities.  Pretty much dancing.  If you get more then one DiscoRobo, together the two can also chat with each other.
