Thanks to my friend at Closer to Lucy for sharing her dieting experiences with us. She’s guest posting today but I’ve been on Nutrisystem too and look at the results! One lucky winner is going to have a shot at trying Nutrisystem for themselves.

As for me- I am down nearly 25 pounds. I know that this isn’t a great picture- but I’m always BEHIND the camera, LOL so it’s all I have at the moment. (I have one from Halloween as well, as soon as I upload it, haha.)

While losing weight has not been easy, it is easier to have a system that is easy to follow, and a team that is behind you and can help you along any “bumps”. For me, the weight came off pretty quickly at first and more slowly now, but that’s OK. I have about 25 pounds to go to reach my goal weight. Now if I can just figure out how to get my hair to stop turning gray! LOL

For me, it has been a great “control” in these insane few months- to be able to control my weight, to have some small sense of control in the chaos that has been surrounding me lately (hurricane, loss of house and possessions, more then one state of emergency, illness, my poor doggy getting cancer and needing amputation, etc- it has been rough over here lately!) Having the ability to see a POSITIVE change that I myself can control? That has been amazing, and has been huge help in keeping me sane! 😛

Read on for Lucy’s thoughts and her week- and of course, the contest! 🙂

Has it already been another week? It seems like the deeper into the year that
we get the faster it goes….I guess that’s because we are super busy trying to
stay warm, right?

So much as happened this week that I feel like a small
lifetime has passed me by.

My highlight was attending the Creating the Balance Conference;
I told you about it and in fact even met a couple of my local readers. Such a
crazy small world, isn’t it?
While at the conference I was reminded my an amazing speaker
who I will be introducing y’all to later in the Holiday Gift Guide but her
words have stayed with me this week as I work toward the end of my Nutrisystem
journey and I found them so relevant in terms of how I think we women see
ourselves…I was so affected by her words that I had to share this little glimpse
of insight.

Just earned another bear
We as woman are constantly juggling who we are, who we think
the world says we should be, and who we thought we were going to be…the reality
of the three is often a pish posh mess.
This woman reminded me that I am amazing and I get to decide
what is good enough, life is messy, and trying to live up to the “fairytale” is
in essence setting ourselves up for failure.
She said many other empowering things that I hope she shares
with us later on but the notion that I am good enough and that I get to decide
what makes me happy and then go for it…that ladies and gentlemen is powerful
stuff in the battle of the bulge. “You don’t have fifty pounds to lose, you
have one pound to lose” just taking that
first step and then the next, then the next, then two more, then another…one
step at a time; that my friends is good enough!
Me..6 pounds to go!
One step at a time is how I’ve been taking it and this week
I only took one step (equals one pound) but guess what? That is good enough for me…I’m now just six pounds
from my overall goal and just one pound from this week’s goal. Isn’t that easier to chew on?
I think so…sometime we just need to allow ourselves the okay
to take that first step. Today peeps one of you is being given a little nudge.
My friends at Nutrisystem have so graciously allowed me in
conjunction with one of Collective
Media Magic’s
own Have Sippy Will
Travel
to offer one Lucky Lucy or Sippy Traveler 10 whole days of of Nutrisystem Select (Nutrisystem’s Fresh Frozen Meals) to get your footing geared in the direction of that first
step.
Please make sure that you read the fine print included in
the Rafflecopter details before entering.
