Atlanta

Atlanta is sure to keep you and your family plenty busy with all the hustle and bustle of a big city. For starters, if you go to the city during baseball season, one of the best things to do is catch a Braves game. This major league baseball team is one of the most popular baseball teams in the South and would be fun for the whole family. The World of Coca-Cola is another fun place to go whether you’re a kid or an adult. After all, who doesn’t love Coke? The World of Coca-Cola is a permanent exhibition on the history of coke located in downtown Atlanta. Other things to do in Atlanta are the Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Park, Atlanta History Center and the Atlanta Movie Tours.

Savannah

If you like beaches or historic towns, then Savannah is the perfect place for you and your family. Along with some of the most beautiful beaches in the South, Savannah hosts a beautiful historic district that is fun for everyone. If you want to spend the day in the sun and on the ocean, you can go on a Dolphin Magic Tour where you’ll cruise the Savannah River into the harbor and towards Tybee Island. You and your family will be sure to have a good time on this short cruise. If cruising isn’t a good fit for you, perhaps you would enjoy a historic walking tour of Savannah. You’ll learn all about history in Savannah by walking through it yourself. At night you can enjoy many restaurants and cafes or even go on a ghost tour! This quaint town will keep you occupied for days.

Stone Mountain

Stone Mountain is in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Stone Mountain is a quartz dome mountain with an elevation of 1,686 feet and a base circumference of nearly 5 miles. You can hike to the top of the mountain on one of many different length trails or simply ride the Skyride Aerial Tram. There is also a Stone Mountain River Boat ride that is fun for the whole family and cruises the river. There are many historical sites around Stone Mountain. Some of them date back to the Civil War, including the Confederate Memorial, which is carved into the base of the mountain.

Athens

Athens might be a college town, but it certainly shouldn’t be overlooked. This town holds a beautiful, eclectic vibe. If you have older children or even if you’re just a UGA fan, you can tour the beautiful University and see all that it has to offer, including the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. If it’s a Saturday in the fall, you’re sure to catch the Bulldogs playing football in Sanford Stadium, which is fun for everyone. If not, then head out to the Bear Hallow Zoo. It may be small, but the zoo will not disappoint, it is lots of fun! Happy traveling!

Eatonton

View the Oconee National Forest, and Lakes Oconee and Sinclair, as well as alluring Victorian architecture.  Have fun fishing, checking out the unique (and fun to browse and buy in) shops in town, or play a round of golf.
Located in the heart of Georgia’s Lake Country, Eatonton is full of fun and interesting finds like the Uncle Remus Museum, the Alice Walker driving tour, and signature golf courses.  Get a great view from the only two Native American effigies of this sort on this side of the Mississippi, Rock Eagle and Rock Hawk, two milky quartz stone effigy mounds, which date back to before the Creek Indians.   These were likely built about 2000 years ago and offer great views of local wildlife as well.
