Traveling is an exciting venture, filled with  activities that will strengthen bonds between families and friends, and give you the chance to rediscover yourself. Itineraries are usually packed with activities depending on the location, but there are times when there are gaps – perhaps a flight gets canceled, or a tour date is moved. Suddenly, you have free time for yourself when you can do whatever you want to do.

A popular option to fill in the traveling time during these breaks is to play online games. Developers have stepped up to the digital age and created online versions of the games we loved as kids. Even online casinos are joining the fun by creating digital versions of blackjack, slots, and sportsbooks. Many websites, like OCBB, offer tips to users about popular online casinos.

Many netizens are switching to online gaming because of its convenience. You can play with people from around the world, and win possibly big prizes without leaving the comfort of your own home. You can even play these games on the go using a tablet or smartphone. Below are some of the online games you can play while traveling:

Board games

We all had our favorite board games growing up. We have fond memories of playing Snakes and Ladders, Monopoly, and Chinese Checkers. Now, you can play all these online. Board games are a fun and time-consuming way to while away time. The best part is you can play with your loved ones and bond with them!

Aside from the traditional board games we grew up with, there are new and creative board games like Kingdom Builder, where you can discover new lands and build your own kingdom, and Medici, where you can be a member of the notorious Medici family and bid on items to take with you on your sailing ships. You can play all of these while traveling.

RPG games

A break in vacation time is the perfect time to catch up on your favorite RPG game. RPGs, or role-playing games, are games in which players take on the role of a fictional character in a made-up world. These usually have narratives so it takes up a lot of time, making it a good game to play while traveling.

There are RPG games that suit every personality. There are games that involve variable levels of violence and adventure, and there are also games that are suited for children. You can either download a specific RPG to your tablet or smartphone or play a web-based one. You can also look around online to find the RPG game that would suit you.

Learning games

Learning games can be fun! If you have children and want to use some gaming time to exercise their brains, there is a huge range of entertaining and challenging puzzles and problem-solving games. These are designed to be enjoyable, as well as educational, and the kids won’t even know they’re actually learning, they’ll be so absorbed in playing. There are puzzle games, word games, maths games, while older children and teenagers may be enthused by strategy and time management versions. That’s not to say, of course, that adults and parents can’t get involved, too…

Online gaming is a fun activity that will cure you of boredom, especially during long trips. But don’t forget the best things about traveling: looking out the window to take in the view and enjoying the company of your family and friends!
