As the holidays are winding down and resolutions or goals are made many people find themselves making a goal to lose weight. It’s no wonder considering we eat the most around the holidays. We’re stuffed like turkeys and well, who can help it? Good food is hard to pass up, which makes this 21-Day Tummy diet brought to you by Liz Vaccariello a solid win for anyone needing to jump start their year and make some healthy choices.

Diving into the book right away you are thrown a lot of helpful facts and tips. There’s practical tips everyone would need not just those trying to lose just holiday pounds or more.

Many of the recipes in this book are focused on getting the system working well. If our gut isn’t working the rest of us isn’t doing too good either. So many other plans target just dropping the pounds not the fact that some foods can trigger reacts deep within and cause us even more troubles. I found this to be a major plus in the book.

The recipes were easy to follow as well as easy to make. There’s simplicity in here and true focus which can really help those who suffer from a slow digestive system. This should jump start the gut and get you ready to start feeling better inside and out. I made a lot of sides from the books, salads and some of the dressings which are fresh and tasty.

Vaccariello lists do’s and don’ts clear and explains throughout the book why you should drop certain things. I really liked the fact that this diet doesn’t focus at all on the scale or measurements, or even your weight but how to make your body healthy again. We are all shaped differently, and this really mattered to me that we’re not a weight, but a person who needs to be working properly.

I made the Grape and Waldorf Salad! It was really yum

Helpful tools are given throughout the book as well, measurement conversation charts, grocery shopping lists, and green or red light foods. Red light foods are a no-no for the stomach, while green foods are of course a go! It’s easy and I suggest printing the list out to carry with you at the store. Makes shopping easier and make you re-think before you just pick anything from the store. There’s also food myths busted in the books, some myths you may or may not have heard about, all explained within the book.

Read some success stories throughout the book as well. The inspiring testimonies and their first hand experiences with this plan can help you along your journey on healthy eating again. t

This book was made not for telling you how to shed holiday pounds but how to change the way you eat. Getting you healthy again with an easy to read regimen that’s all laid out for you.   I would recommend it to anyone with gut problems as I think this is geared more to people with digestive issues. You won’t be disappointed,  it’s a good solid book with great recipes and is packed full of useful tips.
